Chapter 1120: Chapter 1120 Urgent Meeting
Marcus, Lilia, Roxene, Blitz, and Inten were met by a surprising sight the moment that they reached the vicinity of Borealia's royal capital.
A shimmering mist appeared in front of them, and someone stepped out of the gateway.
For a moment they all prepared for battle, sensing the overwhelming presence coming through.
Fortunately, upon seeing who it was, they realized that this was not an enemy coming to attack them.
"Boreas, did you need something? Is everything alright?" Marcus asked, his expression conveying concern.
"There is no immediate danger, but our enemies are always trying to push forward with their next scheme. We've learned quite a bit from those cultists you helped apprehend. Everyone's been waiting for the five of you to return before we solidify a plan of action. Now that you're all back though, I'd like to figure out our next move."
Marcus was surprised by the urgency in Boreas's tone. The man was normally fairly aloof.
'It was subtle, but his attention seemed to be more directed towards Lilia more than me.'
Without any hesitancy, Marcus followed after Boreas through the mist gate. With his sister and beast companions not far behind.
When they came out on the other side of the portal, Marcus found that they were in a familiar space. A secret meeting room for the higher ups of Borealia to discuss sensitive topics.
Those that were already present were King Aaren, Frostine, the crown princess, James and his beast companion Fallon, Grand Archmage Aria, Knight Commander Darius, and finally, Mrazivý.
"Is Gwyneira not going to be joining us?" Marcus said, noticing that she was absent.
"No, she's looking after Safir. I don't want her to worry about other things right now." Boreas responded, the expression of a concerned husband on his face.
He then directed Marcus towards a seat next to Mrazivý, and Lilia and his beast companions found places nearby.
"It looks like your evolution was a success. But now you've pulled ahead of me again." Mrazivý said the moment Marcus sat down, her lips forming a pout.
Thanks to her Dragon Eyes, she had been able to ascertain Marcus' growth in an instant. Before they had been relatively close in power, but now he was far stronger. It made her feel like how things were when they first met.
Yet, before Marcus could address his wife's concerns, Boreas spoke up and the meeting began.
He started off by relaying the relevant information that had been obtained from the cultist worshipping the Blue Primeval Demon.
Unfortunately, Mara, one of the leaders of the cult, took her own life to prevent being captured, so they did not have any intimate details of the organization's current plans.
Still, they at least knew some of their areas that the cult was currently operating in or had its sights on.
"The most concerning has to do with something that the cult is after at the bottom of the Virborg Trench in the Kirvista Ocean." Boreas explained. "Thankfully it seems that the Grand Witches are involved and impeding them. Lilia, do you know anything about this?"
Suddenly being addressed, Lilia looked like a deer caught in headlights.

Nevertheless, she quickly composed herself and answered Boreas' question.
"Sorry, Master Ardea did not give me any details. She only told me that something urgent had come up with the other Grand Witches and that she needed to head off on her own. I didn't even know where she was until you mentioned it just now."
"I see, I figured that would be the case." Boreas said. "Do you have a means to contact her then? I've tried messaging Jaela through a sending stone and with magic, but nothing has reached her. Before heading halfway across the world, I was hoping to gather at least a little more information first.
Nodding her head, Lilia pulled out a special magic tool that Ardea had given her. It appeared to be a simple piece of paper, but in actuality it was capable of folding in on itself and traveling through space. Unfortunately, it could only be used once before the enchantment broke, and thus was meant only for emergencies.
The item also only worked one way. If Ardea wanted to send a response, she would have to use another magic tool.
While this was going on, Marcus remembered part of the message that the administrator had sent him.
'She wanted to tell my friends to be wary of deep water. Is this what she meant?'
The mentioning of the deepest part of any ocean in the world had not escaped Marcus' notice. If this was what the Administrator was alluding to, he needed to tell the others.
"Boreas. I have something I need to talk to you about."
Once everyone had turned their attention towards him, Marcus told them about the message he had received from the Administrator after his evolution.
Everyone listened to him intently, and even though what he relayed was vague, no one disregarded this warning that had come from the enigmatic ruler of Mirrion.
"Lilia, would you be willing to use that magic tool right now?" Boreas asked, his expression grave.
He had lived a long time, and his honed instincts were telling him that something calamitous was on the horizon.
Of course, Lilia agreed to Boreas' request and composed a short message to Ardea.
When she was finished, she folded the piece of paper in half once and let go of it.
Except instead of falling to the ground, it stayed affixed in the air and began folding itself over and over again until it fully disappeared from sight.
After the message to Ardea was sent, several other less important matters were discussed by the highest ranking, and strongest people in Borealia.
"Ah, while I've got you here Boreas. I wanted to ask you if you knew anything about a vampire family with the last name Draayer?" Marcus said as the meeting was winding down. He was hopeful that the long lived and well-traveled first king of Borealia might know something about the individuals he owed a debt to that was soon to be collected.
