Chapter 55: A Voice
The pain was overwhelming, as if his muscles were being torn apart and rebuilt, his internal organs feeling the same torment. The healing pill was working, but it was excruciating.

Host is advised not to attempt such a great boost to your stats next time. Leveling up your body cultivation is the better way. The injury from your actions is so severe that not even the healing pill can heal it, as the damage is done to your physique and your being entirely. Be grateful to the system and your physique; your injury will get better with time.

Seeing the message, Leon sighed. His injury was more severe than he had thought. If even the healing pill couldn't fully heal him, he was in worse shape than he realized.
Leon leaned against a tree, trying to steady his breathing.
The pain was still there, but it was bearable. He couldn't afford to waste any more time. The dungeon was still dangerous, and he needed to be ready for whatever might come next, he still didn't know if there's more inside.
But in this battlefield, there were still survivors, he was sure of it. During his fight with the goblin horde, there were some that he had disabled but not finished off. While battling the goblin commander, he could feel their gazes on him, silent and waiting.
Now, with his eyes open, he could see that they had disguised themselves among the corpses. Unless they moved, it would be difficult to distinguish the living goblins from the dead ones. Enjoy stories on m_v lem|p-yr
As he re-opened his eyes, the battlefield was eerily quiet, the goblin corpses lay strewn about, their green blood mingling with the dirt. He scanned the area, his senses heightened.
"There," he whispered to himself, spotting a slight twitch among the bodies.
With swift precision, Leon moved. He approached the twitching corpse cautiously, his katana ready. Suddenly, a goblin sprang to life, thrusting a spear at him.
Leon parried the attack, his katana deflecting the spearhead, and countered with a quick slash across the goblin's throat. The creature gurgled and fell, truly dead this time.
From behind, another goblin, one he had overlooked, lunged at him with a short sword. Leon's intuition flared; he spun around just in time to block the attack.
Clang-!!!
Their blades clashed, metal ringing out in the silent battlefield. The goblin snarled, trying to overpower him, but Leon, with a deft twist of his wrist, disarmed it and plunged his katana into its chest.
As he stood over the fallen goblin, he sensed another presence. A shuffling sound came from his right. He turned, throwing a dagger in one fluid motion. It strucked fast, embedding itself in a goblin's eye. The creature dropped, twitching and convulsing before becoming still.
"They've still got the courage to attack in their weakened state even after seeing me kill their commander..." Leon scoffed.
His eyes then moved to the interior of the village. Looking through the open gate, he couldn't spot any goblin. Sighing, he silently walked in.
The whole place was deserted. There were no other goblins. He checked the primitive houses, but there were no goblins inside. It seemed he had slaughtered them all in the dungeon.
"It seems I've already killed them all," Leon thought. But then, from the other end of the village, Leon saw a green beam of light suddenly shoot up to the sky.
"Huh?"
A monotonous voice resounded in his head: [Defeat the Dungeon boss to gain the dungeon's ultimate skill.]
Leon was surprised. That voice was clearly not the voice of the system. He was a hundred percent sure it wasn't the system that spoke to him.

It's the
GREAT LABYRINTH VOICE
that's speaking to you, Leon.

Leon saw the prompt from the system and sighed. "The Great Labyrinth, huh? If it's what it is, then it makes sense. I guess the green beam of light indicates the location of the Dungeon boss."
Leon sighed and began sprinting down a path in the middle of the empty goblin village.
He passed through the village, eventually exiting through the other side, sprinting straight for the beam of light. Soon he reached the other end of the dungeon.
There, the goblin boss stood frozen, surrounded by a red fiery energy. The creature wore leather armor and wielded two short swords. Unlike Leon's expectations, it looked lean and nimble, and taller than any other goblins he had encountered so far.
The green beam of light that shot to the sky was emitted from a massive stone with intricate patterns, and the goblin boss was frozen in front of the rune stone.
As soon as Leon laid eyes on the goblin from a distance, it unfroze. In an instant, it reached Leon with insane speed, slashing its two shortswords at him simultaneously and silently.
Leon felt a chill go down his spine. He was shocked and overwhelmed by the goblin's speed. Luckily, his body had already moved on its own, his katana blocking the slash.
His muscles went numb and his eyes widened in shock as he was sent flying by the force of the goblin's strike.
'What the fuck is with this goblin's speed and strength!' he cursed inwardly as he used his katana as an anchor to stop his flight, plunging it into the ground.
His intuition tingled again. The goblin didn't give him a moment of respite and was already in front of him, attacking deftly once more.
Leon raised his katana to block, feeling the force of each blow reverberate through his arms. The goblin's attacks were relentless, each strike precise and powerful.
Leon struggled to keep up, his muscles straining as he parried and dodged. The goblin moved with unnatural agility, its twin blades a blur.
It was as if the creature could anticipate his every move. Leon's mind raced, searching for a weakness, a pattern in the goblin's attacks.
The goblin's next slash came from an unexpected angle, forcing Leon to twist his body awkwardly to block it.
The impact jarred his bones, but he managed to hold his ground. "You're fast," he muttered through gritted teeth, 'Insanely fast,'
Leon feinted to the left, then spun to the right, aiming a counterstrike at the goblin's exposed flank. The goblin dodged with ease, it's gaze was filled with disdain, retaliating with a flurry of swift, brutal slashes.
Clang-!!!!
Leon blocked desperately, his katana a whirlwind of steel. Each clash of their blades sent sparks flying, illuminating the dim chamber in bursts of light.
The goblin's relentless onslaught began to wear Leon down. His arms ached, and his breath came in ragged gasps. But he refused to yield.
Summoning his remaining strength, he launched a fierce counterattack, driving the goblin back step by step. His katana sang through the air, clashing against the goblin's short swords in a deadly dance.
For a moment, it seemed he had gained the upper hand. He forced the goblin towards the rune stone, the green light casting eerie shadows on their faces. But the goblin, with a guttural snarl, unleashed a devastating flurry of blows, driving Leon back once more.
Leon felt the goblin's intuition skill pushing him to his limits, each move anticipated, every strike met with brutal force.
He knew he had to find a way to break the goblin's rhythm, to outthink the creature that seemed to read his every intention.
The goblin was not only insanely fast but also strong. Every clash of its weapon with Leon's carried an impact powerful enough to send him flying.
"Damn it," Leon cursed and began circulating the mana within him. He increased the speed of the mana flow through his body.
This time, he managed to do it with his eyes open. Maybe the tense situation made him focus more, the fact that a single mistake could end his life made his heart thump loudly.
He gritted his teeth and increased the speed of the mana circulating within. The mana flowed through his meridians, muscles, and blood vessels, boosting them. In that single moment, he felt invigorated with energy, the goblin didn't look so fast anymore.
Before, his body was moving subconsciously due to instincts, blocking attacks without actually seeing the goblin's movements.
Swoosh-!!!
But now, things were a bit easier. His moves weren't bound by instincts anymore; they were guided by his will, carrying a sense of purpose.
The goblin, unlike the goblin commander Leon fought before, had been completely silent since the start of the battle. It didn't snarl or shriek; it just looked at Leon with disdain.
Now, noticing that Leon's eyes could follow its movements, the goblin remained silent but increased its speed. Leon handled the increased speed just fine, surprising the goblin.
The goblin sprang backward, staring at Leon for a second. They locked eyes in an intense standoff.
Without a word, they both moved, heading in a beeline straight for each other, their weapons ready for another clash.
