Chapter 275: The Blood-Drenched Spear
Chapter 275: The Blood-Drenched Spear
Another group of Nagas were shaken by the mere sight of Mar'Garet. They threw their weapons and began to flee for their lives. Mar' Garet's lips curled into a sadistic smile as she gazed at them.
"You think you can run from me?" she whispered. Her free hand glowed with crimzon mana as she raised it, her fingers curling. The air seemed to freeze, and the fleeing Nagas halted mid- slither, their movements halted by an invisible force.
"Shattering motion law," she said.
The creatures tried to free themselves against the unseen hold, their eyes wide with fear. Slowly, Mar'Garet began to walk toward them. Each step she took sent chills down their spines. She gripped her spear, and then suddenly her body surged forward in a burst of speed that sent a shockwave rippling through the lagoon, causing her to momentarily vanish.
BOOM!
In the blink of an eye, she was before them. Her spear moved in a blur as she swung it. SHINK! The weapon plunged through one Naga's chest, erupting out its back.
SLASH! A wide arc decapitated two others in one sweep, their heads flying through the air before landing with heavy splashes.
THUD! CRUNCH! Another Naga fell as Mar' Garet pull over its tail, driving her spear down into its skull with a bone-cracking force. Its green blood splattered across her armor, steaming as her reddish-black mana emanated from her body.
Other Nagas in the distance that saw this began to shriek, fear gripping their hearts. They tried to flee, wanting to be nowhere near the terrifying creature slaughtering their kind. Some froze in fear and simply dropped their weapons, hoping for mercy, but it was pointless...
Mar'Garet extended her hand again. "Shattering motion law." A faint ripple spread across the battlefield, halting them in their tracks again.
"I see some of you are still trying to run away," she said with a smile, swinging her spear, causing the green blood on its tip to splatter into the water.
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that," she said as she approached, a sinister smile appearing on her face as she giggled.
"Because I'm sure if I kill all of you..." While approaching, she lifted the pole of her spear to her face, where some splatters of green blood were, proceeding to lick it off with her forked tongue. Then she placed her free hand on her face as she looked almost euphoric and said,
"If I kill lots... and lots of you... my lord will praise me again." She paused, looking up, lost in thought.
"Like he used to..." She paused there, causing some Nagas to exchange uneasy looks with one another.
She finally spoke again. "And so, to make sure he does, I'm going to need all of you... to die for me." She smiled, spinning her spear, then suddenly pointed it at one of the Nagas, its reflection showing on the polished crimson surface.
"But you know what?" Mar'Garet asked. "This whole freezing all of you in your tracks is getting old," she smiled, giggling. "How about we try a different approach?"
"Let's make it a chase, so that we all can have some fun, no?"
With a surge of energy, she shattered the motion law she'd imposed, and the sudden release left the Nagas shocked. Without wasting a moment, they began stumbling forward, helpless and exposed.
She laughed loudly, a sound that made the air feel colder. "Let's finish this properly!"
Her spear spun in her hands, its blade glowing with an ominous red hue. She lunged forward in a massive burst of speed, her strikes landing in rapid succession.
CLANG! SHINK! SPLAT!
One Naga's chest was torn open, its ribcage cracking like dry twigs as green ichor poured out. Another's tail was severed, leaving it writhing on the ground before her spear silenced it with a thrust to the heart.
The lagoon itself bore massive scars from her rampage. Coral towers shattered under the force of her movements, sending shards of stone flying in all directions. Water geysers erupted where her strikes hit with earth-shaking impact, creating whirlpools that dragged debris and lifeless bodies into their depths.
The final few Nagas cowered, huddling together as they trembled in fear. Mar'Garet stalked toward them, her shadow looming over them, her spear dripping with blood.
They hissed weakly, one even raising its arms in a show of surrender. She tilted her head, her smile widening.
"Mercy? Oh no, you won't be getting that."
In one last explosive burst of speed, she darted forward, her spear blurring as it moved.
BOOM!
When she stopped, she stood in the midst of the mangled remains of the last group. The spear spun in her hand once before she stuck it into the ground, surveying the carnage. Blood, shattered coral, and broken bodies littered the battlefield. She let out a contented sigh.
"Now that was satisfying," she said, brushing a strand of blood-soaked hair from her face, her mana surged out again during her body of the blood splatters. Her gaze lifted to the skies where Alzuring hovered in the distance, wondering what Alister would think of her
performance.
"I wonder if my lord is already done with the boss monster."
She tilted her head to the left, resting it in her left hand as she spoke with a blush. "Ah... I'm sure with this... he'll praise me." She giggled.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"I'm sure he will," she said, grabbing her spear as she began to make her way to the ruined Colosseum in the distance, her dragon tail waving from side to side in excitement.
...
Meanwhile, near the ruined Colosseum, the earth was damp and swampy. On the muddy floor rested a massive, multi-headed deep green Naga a Hydra, a Mythical-class S-ranked
monster.
The creature lay in silence, until a massive roar shattered the stillness.
Graaaaaaa!
The Hydra's yellow, reptilian eyes suddenly snapped open, narrowing as its eight heads slowly rose, scanning the area for the source of the sound that had awakened it from its
slumber.
One of its heads spotted something approaching in the distance, the figure growing larger with every beat of its wings.
It was a wyvern, and atop its head stood what appeared to be a human. The figure had a calm expression, yet an intense look burned in their eyes.
The wyvern roared again, and the Hydra responded with a hiss like roar from all of its heads.
Moments later, the wyvern was directly above it, and the human standing on its head leaped off, landing with a loud splat in the mud, the black and white armor they had on was now covered in mud splatters caused by their landing.
Alister glanced at the massive Hydra, not the least bit fazed by the powerful presence of the eight-headed beast.
He sighed, rolling his shoulders as he stepped forward, the swampy mud squelching beneath
his boots.
"Alright," he said, flexing his claws as his gauntlets shimmered with a faint, golden hue.
"Let's get this over with."
His eyes narrowed, glowing faintly as he focused on the monster before him. A translucent window appeared before him, displaying the Hydra's talent window.
Monster: Hydra, Swamp Sovereign
Rank: S-Class (Mythical)
Class: Large
Total Combat Power: 69,872 (S-Class)
System Remark: An ancient predator that rules over swampy domains. Its eight venomous heads and near-immortal regenerative abilities make it a nightmare for even the strongest warriors. And it's petrifying gaze make it an even more problematic opponent. Revered as a living catastrophe, the Hydra thrives in its murky territory, where it speed and strength are enhanced. A single mistake against this beast could mean certain death. []
'So it's capable of petrification and it has enhanced speed and strength.'
'I doubt I'll need to worry about petrification though, due to my mana distortion aura skill.'
'So the only thing I'll have to worry about is it's physical attacks and regenative capabilities...' The next instant, Anzo landed beside Alister with a dramatic THUD, his voice echoed out across the swampy battlefield.
"You thought you could start without me? Well, think again!" he yelled, cracking his knuckles
with a grin.
Alister, for a brief moment, was caught off guard, his mind racing. 'Wait... I was thinking about only myself... what about him? Won't he be turned into a statue and shattered if he isn't
carful?'
Suddenly befir Alister could thunk any further, the Hydra let out a terrifying hiss, the sound echoed in vibrating air violently.
Put of nowhere, the creature's eight heads reared back, its yellow eyes flashing. A moment later, it's heads unleashed a massive, venomous breath., an explosive stream of corrosive gas that shot toward them in the form of a deadly green torrent.
Anzo's reflexes kicked in immediately, using his telekinesis he enhanced his natural speed. He saw the blast coming and darted to the side with an agility that made no sense for his size,
Alister did the same.
His eyes wide as he refocused on the massive beast.
The Hydra's venomous blast then crashed into a part of the ruined Colosseum behind them
with a deafening...
BOOM
The force of the impact causing the structure to quake. As the venom spread, the air became
thick with toxic fumes, rising in swirling clouds that made the ground sizzle and the wall melted where the blast had struck.
Alister stood, refocusung on the monster as he thought, 'I wonder why it's venemous breath was not included in the description... Guess is normally supposed to be expected considering the fact it is a massive snake after all.'
Alister's thoughts raced as he assessed the situation, his mind quickly processing the Hydra's movements and the threat it posed.
The toxic fumes from the venomous breath swirled around them, making it hard to breathe,
but he wasent affected due to his previously developed poison resistance and his mana
distortion aura pulsing around him.
Anzo used his telekinesis to constantly push the air around him outward, effectively causing
him to not be affected by the toxic fumes, he cracked his neck with a smirk. "You're not getting away with that," he said, his eyes glowing with excitement.
