Chapter 2363: Explanation
Chapter 2363: Explanation
Every team member is eager for what is Sam about to say.
This pocket dimension is full of mysteries. The presence of skeleton, the multiplication, the increase in their power level. Everything is happening right in front of their eyes, but they don't how it is happening.
They also don't have a clue about what the is key to getting out of here.
So, they are more than willing to spare some time and learn it.
"First and foremost, the whole pocket dimension is divided in several parts. You can consider them as zones and each zone is guarded by an undead creature. When people are sent in here, they will be spawned at random locations.
Irrespective of their arrival, the zones will create these undead creatures and send them out. They absorb the death energy of the surroundings and increase their strength.
With special means, you can distinguish how much energy a creature has gathered and how dense its energy is.
Based on those two metrics, you can divide the levels of these creatures. The black is the last and the highest level on this scale. Whenever a creature reaches the next level on this scale, a new creature will be created in its original zone.
At the start of the pocket dimension, if you encounter these creatures, you can fight them in their zone or you can escape them. Even if they come after you, you might have noticed that they halted their pursuit after you travelled far enough.
That is because, when their numbers are low, these creatures tend to not leave their zones. Unless and of course you forced the creatures to go out using spatial means.
There is another method too. When the creature's number has reached a certain limit, then they will start spreading out of their zones.
They will increase their strength until they reach the black level and they will keep on increasing in number if you don't trigger the conditions to stop that multiplication.
And that condition is completely destroying, at least one black level creature of its kind. Once a black level creature of a kind is destroyed, it will stop the multiplication.
Here comes the most difficult part. Actually destroying one of the black creatures. As you might have noticed, no matter how many times you beat the skeletons, you won't be able to destroy them. They will always come back, regenerated and in a stronger form.
However, there is one and just one point within the skeleton's body, that will become its core or the weak point, after certain number of regenerations and certain level of energy threshold.
Once it reaches that level, when we attack the skeleton at that point and do enough damage, it will finally be destroyed.
After that one black skeleton of a kind is destroyed, it will stop the multiplication, then you will be left with all the other skeletons that are already spawned. All you can do is target them one by one, let them increase their strength to the maximum black level, let it reach that threshold level and break it down through the core.
You have to do this repetitively with every skeleton until we destroy every other skeleton in this place.
That should allow us to leave this place."
Sam looked at them after dumping that load of info on them.
"Are you for real?" Hari asked with his mouth wide open. The test of this pocket dimension, if what Sam speculated is actually true is the toughest and most time-consuming of all the pocket dimensions they have participated in over the years.
The time taken, the effort they have to put in and the threat level of each skeleton on top of that... this is almost an impossible challenge.
The regenerating skeletons are tailor made to exhaust them of all their energy. Every regeneration increases the difficulty. No matter how one looks at this, this is more like a torture chamber than a training center.
The team fell into discussion and after digesting it all, Hari asked Sam.
"So, the first step of our plan was to destroy one black level creature of each kind. We finished that with the tree-man. That means the creatures will not be multiplied anymore." There is almost a faint hint of relief in his tone.
Sam nodded in return.
He then noticed a slightly bitter expression in the faces of some people. He understood what they are thinking. They are feeling bitter because Drik's team will also be able to get out once they destroyed these skeletons.
In a way, they will be putting all the hardwork, while Drik's team despite being the idiots, won't have to pay a dime, will get to escape this place The aftertaste is even more disgusting when they thought of the price they paid.
It is beyond exorbitant.
"Then what is the second step? You went out to execute it." Hari asked.
"Well that is to ensure that the customers that haven't paid the fare can't get on the ride." Everyone looked at him in askance and then realization dawned on.
"What did you do?" Hari asked.
But Sam didn't answer.
"We can start with our grind. It will take a long time to destroy these skeletons. Even with the amplified formations and inscriptions, it is going to be a long task. If the conditions align we can destroy a skeleton in thirty minutes, but we are not going over for more than forty for one black skeleton.
The problem is that we need to increase the strength of a lot of these skeletons, which will take a lot of time
With all that, it will take days. So, I hope you guys are prepared for this."
After saying that, Sam jumped into his concealment formation and started operating it. While doing that, he also crushed a token that he made while he was out roaming and making preparations.
The people who are observing the concealment formation's location noticed the change in fluctuations. Crow is also inside. Hari and Rashma went to lure out of their next skeleton,
their process didn't change.
It remained absolutely same.
Maybe they wanted to throw Drik's team off, Hari and Rashma agreed on luring the skeletons in the same order as before.
So, all the tracking and preparation of Drik's scout team amounted to nothing. Meanwhile, what the scout doesn't know is, the moment Sam broken a token, the situation of their hide out has turned upside down.
Drik who was busy trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle in the right order, suddenly felt something was off in the energy distribution around him. He checked the concealment formation of the hide out and also other defensive formations.
No matter how many times he checked, with his limited expertise, he couldn't find anything. However, he can sense that there is something really off about the energy flow.
He contacted the formation team. One of the members came to him angrily and yelled at him.
"We are in a pinch here, Drik. The formation team members are stretched thin. We are in a constant state of either recovery or energy overdrive. Our minds are on verge of collapse with the stress. Can you stop calling us and assigning us random tasks based on whims and
hunches?"
Drik pursed his lips and said.
"The hideout formation. I think there is something wrong with it."
The formation team member paused and immediately connected with the formation. He
frowned and said.
"All the nodes are operating and the concealment should be working properly. There is indeed
a slight disturbance in the flow, but it doesn't seem like much. It could just be a glitch because of the shift in environmental energy.
The pocket dimension's energy level is increasing, so it might have caused..."
*BOOM*
He didn't even get to finish his speculation, when something hit the formation. The explosive sound rattled everyone out of their relative safety. The formation broke down and
disappeared at the same time.
*BOOM* *BOOM* *RUMBLE*
They could hear the explosive noises and the rocks flying around. The impact from each hit reverberated in their heads. Soon, they saw it.
The concealment formation is gone. All the defensive measures are kicked it. The black skeletons surrounded them and they even saw more of them charging towards them.
The reverberations are so strong, that even though the formation is not destroyed, the aftershock is enough to rattle the walls of the hide out. Drik came out and looked at the scene
in shock.
Everyone gathered without anyone alerting them.
Dozens of black skeletons. All of them with the sole aim of destroying the hide out.
"We need to escape. We cannot stay here."
One of them yelled out loud.
Drik tried to calm them down, but even before he could raise his voice...Nôv(el)B\\jnn
*BAM*
The first barrier was broken down and the skeletons charged forward.
He knew that they wouldn't hold up. Luckily, the space gate is ready. "Go to the space gate. Everyone, hurry."
