Chapter 113 A Merchant Should Never Be Trusted!
"Why should we believe you? What if you're tricking us to obtain our help?" Albert was the first to break the minute-long silence. As his Master's most trusted servant and best friend, he was privy to his biggest secret and knew why he harbored such a fierce hatred for Magical Beasts.
"I swear on my life that every word I have said is true! Lucian is a Magical Beast! He must be killed."
Albert narrowed his eyes and scrutinized Yax's expression. His eyes held desperation and hatred. There was no deceit in his expression, and even his heartbeat was normal. After a tense moment, he turned to his Master, "Master, if what he says is true, then we should deal with Lucian before he harms someone else."
Garm nodded his head, and looked at Yax, "We will see for ourselves. If this Magical Beast truly exists, I'll rip him to shreds. But if you were lying…"
Yax's heart tightened seeing the enraged expression on Garm's face.
'Just how much hatred does he have for Magical Beasts? And what the hell did the Magical Beasts do to him for him to be that angered by just the mention of a Magical Beast?'
However, Yax did not care to learn about what caused Garm's hatred for Magical Beasts. All that mattered to him was that his hatred would allow him to obtain his revenge against Lucian. That was why he came to Garm in the first.
"I would never lie to Sir Taotie." Yax's face was full of confidence, which caused Garm and Albert to actually believe this part of his story.
"I just hope that Seniors can give me a small part of Lucian's body after he dies," Yax said carefully.
"What do you plan to do with his body part? Sell them?" Albert raised his brow.
Yax shook his head vigorously, "No, Sir Albert. I need it for a Mana Veins Restoring Potion. I once heard that a powerful Alchemist can create it from a high-Ranking Magical Beast."
"I don't want to live the life of a cripple!"
"Fine, if Lucian is a Magical Beast, you'll get your piece. But remember, if you're lying, you'll wish you never came to me for your revenge." Garm agreed after a moment of thought.
Yax nervously gulped as a shiver ran down his spine. He said, "Thank you Sir Taotie! Thank you!"
Albert waved his hand, and a portal appeared.
"This portal will take us to Lucian's restaurant. Master, please go first." Albert respectfully bowed and after his Master's figure disappeared through the portal, he followed behind.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
As soon as their figures disappeared from his line of sight, Yax burst out laughing, "HAHAHA! Lucian, you will rue the day you didn't kill me! But don't worry, your body won't go to waste! Your flesh, bones, and blood will be used to help me become a Mage again! HAHAHA!"
After he laughed like a madman, he entered the portal.
"Did anyone hear what they said?" A woman asked with a frown after she exited her tent.
"No."
"Me neither."
"Weird."
Unbeknownst to them, earlier, when Albert sensed people were spying on them, he had created a portal around him, his Master, and Yax to prevent their conversation from being heard.
—--------------------
Back to the present.
Garm frowned after hearing the anxiousness in Yax's voice.
"If he's a Magical Beast, then explain why his body isn't emitting a wild and ferocious aura?" He asked.
Yax similarly frowned as he pointed at Fenwick and James and said in a confused tone, "Senior, they said they saw his Magical Beast eyes when he activated a Skill."
Garm turned his head and looked at Fenwick and James, who were now standing next to the young lady.
"Is what he said the truth?"
[Uncle, Sir James please lie! I don't want my Big Brother Lucian to get hurt! We just need to buy a bit more time.] Lily tried to persuade them. Experience tales at empire
Fenwick and James imperceptibly frowned. They would rather not lie to a Mana King Realm Mage. Once the lie was exposed, it would be difficult to keep their lives.
Even James, with his background, would not be spared. The Orchard Family was strong; however, they only protected those who had made sufficient contributions to the family. The rest were left to fend for themselves. The Orchard Family was a cruel, yet fair Family.
… Lucian was crucial to his plan to become the next Orchard Family Head. He did not want him to die.
Fenwick's thoughts were similar to James'. With sufficient strength, Fenwick could enact his revenge against Orcus Blackthorne — Garrett and Lily's father — and have the strength to enter Drakonia Continent to find a high-Ranking Magical Beast with healing properties. It was one of the ingredients for the Mana Veins Restoring Potion.
For similar and different reasons, they both wanted Lucian to remain alive.
Without wasting another second, James replied, "It is true. We saw Chef Lucian's dark purple vertical pupils when he activated a Skill."
Lily was stunned. Her beautiful pink eyes were as wide as possible. She could not believe Sir James actually told the truth.
Fenwick, Garrett, and the rest of the members of Lions Liver frowned with displeasure.
At this moment, they could not help but be reminded of a popular saying, 'Merchants can never be trusted.' They had no loyalty whatsoever.
The respect they had for James instantly vanished.
Li Yong, Anselm, and the four nobodies who had appeared after hearing the commotion were filled with grief.
'I was so close to a breakthrough. Damn this fatty, couldn't he wait a few more days before he showed up!?' Li Yong gritted his teeth.
Of course, he could not care less what happened to Lucian. The others were in agreement. They only cared about his Mana-rich food.
The guards were astounded they had no idea until now that Lucian was a Magical Beast. They nervously gulped and took a step away from him.
