Chapter 2191 Manor of Vishnu -Part 15 (Final)
"Request?" No.7 said as she was processing her anger when the Commando Mage heard that her comrades were currently being stuck to perform another sort of weird trial that Vishnu had conjured out. However before she could say anything, No.2 stepped forward and decided to speak out before No.7 attempted to say something useless instead.
"I like to have a time out and talk to King Jin." No.7 requested which Vishnu immediately smiled as if he made the right call to use this request appropriately.
"Very well, Vishnu said as he tapped Game Meat's belly and the rest of the War Boar herd scuttered to the side of the Manor while he snapped his finger to enable a hologram to appear right in front of the Commando Mages.
"What's up?" Jin said as he was seen munching on a few snacks with Kalki still at the side of his office reading a book.
"Your Majesty." No.2 and No.7 paid their respects despite their King was 'off duty' before he got to the main issue. "What is this dungeon instance for? It's not the usual dungeon dimension that we were used to and it felt like we are being played by you."
"Can't we just have a one to one fight with Vishnu?" No.7 concurred with No.2's assessment of the situation and felt that it was a waste of time.
"Eh, but you are fighting against Vishnu right now, aren't you? If you cannot complete his tasks, that equates to losing, isn't it?" Jin asked and the Commando Mages were unable to refute his claims. As weird as fighting Yogi Gangsters and Shadow Predators, they were still challenges set out by the God of Preservation.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Does that mean failing the task at hand, will cause us to return to the former state where we have to fight the Yogi gangsters again?" No.7 asked and Jin nodded his head.
"Maybe stronger? Faster? Wiser? Who knows? I already stated that the dungeon does have some self learning capabilities. If you cannot pass this, the dungeon will eventually adapt and win you.
By the time you get to the 10th attempt, you probably have a very low success rate. So kudos on completing the Game Meat task." Jin said as he clapped his hand a little while Kalki let out a slight chuckle at the side.
"All these are meaningless!" No.7 exclaimed but Jin laid back on his chair and shoot a question back at her easily.
"So is this vengeance thing. Does killing Vishnu, a god that would undoubtedly be revived again worth your thirst for revenge? And besides, you all did say that you will overcome anything and everything just to have a shot against Vishnu. You are having it now, aren't you? He even gave you a reward by providing a handicap to you." Jin remarked and No.7 stop in her tracks.
"If that is the case, I would want out." No.2 said as he fiddled with his rifle. "I finally get your point, your Majesty."
"Huh, since when do you even have the authority to back out of a mission?" No.7 asked as she pulled her Wand Rifle right at him.
"Going out this way by not seem like a bad idea as well." No.2 said as he moved his head forward and let the tip of the barrel to align straight at his temple. If No.7 ever pressed her trigger, No.2's brains would splatter all over the place providing him the instant death and relief from this dungeon.
"Why are you doing this?" No.7 asked but Jin knew that No.2 already figured that their King had been plotting all along. In fact, he got the hint the moment he said that 'you will overcome anything and everything just to have a shot against Vishnu'. It was an indication that whatever the Commando Mages do will eventually lead to a possible scenario like what No.2 and No.7 was in.
Pointing their weapons, calling each other traitor.
"Your Majesty, for you to still train us at this stage of our career. I do not know whether you are a genius or you just happen to find a solution to a problem like this along the way." No.2 said and Jin laughed.
"No.2, as of this moment, you are field promoted to Vice Leader of the Commando Mages. Should the situation arises, you may be once again field promoted to Leader of the Commando Mages," Jin said and No.7 got even more confused which made her feel that the situation got even more messy than ever. That was when No.2 decided to give a short explanation to her.
"We are never getting out of this dungeon until we release the drive for vengeance in our hearts. King Jin would never give us that ten attempts in the first place. We will fuck up in this dungeon, being thrown back to a position where the requests we made such as handicaps were invalid and subsequent trials would be a rinse and repeat.
It would be to the point we starting raising our rifles against each other and live with guilt of killing our own people." No.2 explained.
"It will be to the point where Jin would eventually dissolve the Commando Mages team because everyone had done things that would be disgraceful of the Commando Mages." No. 2 said while looking at Jin for his replies as well as his expressions.
"Sums up almost everything that I want to do. Great job." Jin smiled and nodded his head.
"Then what about the safety and defence of our country? Our nation? Are we to be become mercenaries? Or are we going to be pawns and be summarily executed just because of this mission?" No.7 asked and No.2 already started find the situation absurd.
Continue your adventure at empire
"You yourself already said this is a mission, why are you sticking hard to this mission when there are no emotions involved or invested in this particular fight? Are you doing this just to support No.8?" No.2 said and No.7 kept her silence for a while before putting her Wand Rifle down.
"So this is the end of the Commando Mages if they cannot see the bigger picture, eh?" No.7 asked once more for confirmation and this time, Jin's nod was a little more serious than the one he gave No.2.
"Fine then." No.7 reraised her Wand Rifle and shot No.2 in his head, splattering the brains all over the area. As she reload her bullet and gave her self the same treatment. The second portion was something Jin did not expect and even allowed Kalki to distract herself to see what the commotion was exactly.
"I guess…No.7 just did not like to lose at all, huh?" Kalki responded and Jin slowly nodded in response.
"At the very least, she can be reasoned with. But for No.8, reasoning would not bring her anywhere. Ultimately, Vishnu would need to fight with her so that she can have some peace in her heart to move on." Jin said.
"Won't you do the same for your current lover?" Kalki asked since Jin, despite all his prowess and capabilities he acquired throughout this short span of time of his life, is still human.
