Chapter 95 Encirclement and Arrest (Part 1)
```
"Clang!"
After tightening the last screw on the hub, the man with the goatee threw the wrench into the trunk and looked at Chen Yu: "It's fixed."
"You drive," Chen Yu glanced at the band-aid on the hood and the tape wrapped around the tire: "I'm afraid I'll break it if I drive."
"Sure."
The man with the goatee didn't refuse, opened the door, got into the driver's seat, and started the car with the keys Chen Yu handed him.
"Buzz—zzzz..."
The engine successfully ignited, with a shrill sound.
"It's not going to explode, is it?" Chen Yu was worried.
"It's the cylinder's issue. No worries, it can run." Skilfully turning the steering wheel, the man with the goatee reversed the direction, flipping his long ponytail over his shoulder and smiled: "Get in."
Chen Yu and the little girl both got into the back seat.
The man with the goatee immediately pressed the accelerator, and the off-road vehicle "screamed" its way toward Qingcheng.
Because of the completely shattered windshield, the fierce wind was pouring in. They hadn't gone far before the little girl could not help but shiver: "Brother, I think I'm getting colder."
"Is that so." The man with the goatee was taken aback and slowed down the speed. Then suddenly, he drifted and turned around on the spot! The car was now facing rearward with its intact rear window leading.
He started driving backward.
"Cold now?"
"Not anymore."
"Your driving skills are impressive!" Chen Yu exclaimed.
"Just practice," said the man with the goatee, backing up the car while watching the rearview mirrors on both sides, asking, "Buddy, why are you driving to this place so late at night?"
"Hecheng is my hometown, I'm just visiting."
"Oh."
The man with the goatee nodded and said nothing more.
Chen Yu remained silent too.
The three of them were just quietly bouncing along with the bumps of the vehicle.
After a while.
Chen Yu felt his sleeve being tugged.
Turning his head, he saw the little girl beside him, extending her mitten-clad hand, offering him something.
Looking closely, it was a White Rabbit candy.
"For me?" Chen Yu raised his eyebrow.
"Mhm," the girl nodded vigorously: "It's really yummy."
"Thank you," Chen Yu took it and pocketed it: "How old are you, little sister? Have you seen goldfish?"
"Te...ten years old."
"Ten years old, the perfect age for school. Yet, you have no school to attend..."
Upon hearing this, the little girl lowered her head.
"That's too happy," Chen Yu added.
The little girl: "..."
"Hey," the man with the goatee turned around: "Don't teach my little sister bad things."
"Is she really your sister? You're old enough to be her grandfather."
"She's not my blood sister," the man with the goatee said quietly: "Picked up on the road."
Continue your adventure with empire
"Holy moly!" Chen Yu was shocked: "Just randomly picking up such a cute sister, you're so lucky it's criminal!"
"I'm not cute... I'm..."
"Cough."
The man with the goatee coughed, and the little girl immediately stopped talking.
Seeing this, Chen Yu naturally didn't press for answers.
"Gurgle—"
Soon after, the little girl's stomach made a rumbling sound.
"Hungry?" the man with the goatee asked.
The girl shook her head: "Not hungry."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"We'll be in Qingcheng soon, you can have a big meal."
"Okay," the girl obediently agreed.
"You can eat the candy to stave off hunger," Chen Yu suggested.
"I... I'm out of candy."
"That was your last piece, and you gave it to me?" Chen Yu was surprised.
"Mhm," the little girl nodded.
"Bro, your sister is just too... considerate," Chen Yu sighed, taking out the candy, unwrapping it, and putting it into his mouth, speaking unclearly: "Just one piece of candy... and you gave it away. Mmm. It's really sweet."
"Glug," the little girl turned away, licking her lips quietly and swallowing.
"Buddy," the man with the goatee turned around, giving Chen Yu a serious look, asking: "When did you become a Transcendent?"
"This year."
"You must have taken quite a few beatings before."
"What's that supposed to mean!" Chen Yu chewed on the candy: "I still take a beating now and then."
Just like that.
The trio drove backward for nearly two hours.
And successfully arrived at Qingcheng.
Because of Chen Yu's status as a Transcendent, the gatekeepers merely entered his information into a microcomputer and respectfully let him through.
They drove on for another two kilometers.
The man with the goatee turned off the engine, got out of the car, and bowed to Chen Yu: "Thank you."
"No need for that," Chen Yu asked: "What are you planning to do next?"
"We have some business to take care of," the man said, lifting the little girl out of the car: "But before that, I want to treat my sister to a big meal."
"A big meal, huh."
"Right."
"Can I join you?"
The man with the goatee: "..."
Five minutes later.
The three of them settled into a 24-hour hotpot restaurant.
They ordered a split hotpot.
"Spicy for us two," the man with the goatee told Chen Yu: "Clear broth for my sister."
"Works for me," Chen Yu nodded.
Soon, the ingredients arrived at the table.
All three began adding food into the pot.
The little girl was clearly starving. As she waited for the ingredients to cook, she kept sipping water from her cup, her big eyes intently glued to the hotpot.
At the same time, Chen Yu also observed that the girl seemed to eat only vegetarian dishes. There was no meat in her half of the pot.
Narrowing his eyes, he pondered...
"It's done, eat up."
At the man with the goatee's "command," the little girl immediately picked up her chopsticks and grabbed a slice of potato, hurriedly stuffing it into her mouth, chewing contentedly with her little face.
"Buddy, fancy a drink?" the man asked Chen Yu.
"Sure."
"Great," the man with the goatee nodded, called for a bottle of liquor and poured Chen Yu a glass: "Actually, I didn't want to invite you to dinner. After all, considering our situation, the longer you stay with us, the more trouble you might get into."
