Chapter 1202 Viewing from Another Lens
Chapter 1202 Viewing from Another Lens
After spending over quarter of a day showing Valyr how the mechanics behind his concept of precognition worked, Jekyll continued to teach the young man more things about the skill he'd obtained, specifically the other ways he was able to use the skill.
Considering the ingenuity that went behind the first ability Jekyll showed him, it went without saying that Valyr committed the information the man shared with him to memory.
After all, as long as he continued to improve his control and proficiency over [Warrior's Eyes of Slaughter], he would also be able to use the abilities Jekyll showed him.
'Then again, I'm pretty sure it'll take me quite some time before I reach a similar level of proficiency to what he showed me.'
Undeterred by the thought, Valyr continued to absorb the information Jekyll was giving him on the skill, only to then bring up the topic of applying the skill into blacksmithing with Jekyll at some point.
Of course, with how [Gambler's Discerning Eyes] and [Hunter's Tracking Eyes] more or less became a staple skill he activated whenever he forged or modified equipment, the young man was more than confident that the upgraded version of the skill would also mesh well with his entire forging process.
However, when he mulled over the fact that the skill now gave him the ability to create vital spots out of thin air, a couple of ideas related to the concept forging began to pop up in his mind.
With that, he thought that it would be a good idea to share those thoughts with Jekyll, hoping to obtain his insight on what he could possibly do or improve to make those ideas work.
Though, in reality, once the topic came up, it was as if the two of them worked as equals, exchanging information back and forth between them as they slowly delved deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole they themselves created.
Surprisingly, the amount of time they spent discussing the application of the skill from a forging perspective lasted longer than the exchange they did for Jekyll's concept of precognition, with the two finishing their discussion by the time the sun was its peak at once more.
Then again, the only reason why they stopped was because they felt they'd already covered most, if not all of the things to keep in mind a couple of times. If not for that, then they would've probably continued their discussion until night fell once more.
"…Honestly, I didn't think it was possible to do something like that with the skill." Feeling a slight pang of hunger hit him, Jekyll decided to head down to the restaurant beside the inn they were staying, with Valyr following suit.
"You've definitely opened my eyes to a wider world, Valyr," said the man with a slight chuckle. "In fact, you're the first person I know to use the skill's mechanics in a non-combat setting."
Hearing those words, Valyr looked back at him with slight interest. "Are you saying other people have also inherited your skill?"
"I only taught up to [Hunter's Tracking Eyes] to the few people I decided to share the skill with," replied Jekyll, prompting the young man to raise his eyebrow in slight curiosity. "You know… now that I think about it, you're the only one so far that has fully inherited my skill."
"As for the others, they used the skill I gave them as a foundation and made the skill fit according to their own needs," continued the man. "As far as I know, some of them have even improved the skill to where it's on par with [Warrior's Eyes of Slaughter], if not better."
"Is that so?" Valyr looked at Jekyll for a bit before nodding, pondering over the man's words for a bit.
Hearing that the others who inherited Jekyll's skill used it to create a similar skill that suited their own needs, the young man began to wonder why he hadn't done the same thing as them, considering that he'd been mostly using his skill from a forging perspective.
Then again, it did not take long for him to come to a conclusion. After all, he wasn't just using the skill he got from Jekyll to improve the quality of his works while forging.
'Honestly, that just makes me more excited to see how [Vision of the First Blacksmith] and [Warrior's Eyes of Slaughter] would synergize once I actually start forging new items,' thought Valyr with a slight smile, eventually pushing the thought to the side.
With that, the two of them eventually arrived at the restaurant, ordering meals that more than made up for the amount of time they spent in the room together. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"So, what are you plans after this?" Receiving the large meal he ordered, Jekyll took a couple of bites before a random thought popped up in his mind. "After all, you've more or less gotten the skill already."
"I'll probably return to where I was staying before coming here," replied Valyr after taking a few bites of his own, giving Jekyll a brief overview of what he was doing before meeting up with him. "Though, I might pay a visit to some other place after that."
"How about the issue involving what happened yesterday?" asked the man after some time, a look of slight concern on his face. "I could offer a bit of my help if you want."
"I'll keep that in mind," said Valyr in response, thanking Jekyll for his offer. "But I think I've got it all sorted out."
Hearing those words, Jekyll briefly looked at the young man in confusion, only to then understand what the latter was hinting at. "Ah, right."
"You do have the strength, after all."
As Valyr faintly smiled in response to Jekyll's words, the two continued to dig into their respective meals in silence, devouring what would normally feed a family of three in just a bit over ten minutes.
After that, the two of them decided to add one another to each other's friend lists, especially after Jekyll mentioned to Valyr that there was still one part of his legacy that he had yet to obtain.
"Of course, that'll only be available once you comprehend a Force," said the man to him, heading their separate ways after that.
Watching Jekyll's silhouette gradually disappear from his field of vision, a slight smile began to creep up on Valyr's face as a familiar face appeared in front of him.
"I'm guessing your talk with the Northern Star was fruitful?"
"Definitely." Valyr nodded in agreement, letting out a chuckle soon after. "I'm guessing you're here to talk about what happened yesterday?"
"Was I that obvious?" asked Hal back, letting out a bit of laughter after that.
However, not even a second after he was done laughing, the man looked at Valyr with a serious expression, his face containing a hint of concern. "But seriously though..."
"What are you planning to do?"
