Chapter 1188 Center of Attention
Chapter 1188 Center of Attention
Whoosh!
"…Yeah. I think that's the last of it."
Retrieving what looked to be a metal shield from his spatial bracelet, Valyr tossed the shield into the large pile of items beside him before letting out a faint sigh of relief.
Seeing Julian in front of him turn frozen from the sheer number of equipment he brought out, the young man faintly recalled the incident from earlier before giving him a light tap on the shoulder.
"Hmm? Oh." Fortunately, that was more than enough to snap Julian back to reality, with the man looking at Valyr with a slightly apologetic smile. "That's all of it, right?"
"That's all of it, yes." Valyr nodded back, briefly checking on the contents of his spatial bracelet to see if he missed anything.
Though, after seeing that the only pieces of equipment left in his spatial bracelet were the ones he got from clearing the inheritance's trials, the young man soon returned his attention back to Julian as he faintly smiled.
With their purpose in the guild's storage now fulfilled, the two soon made their way back to Julian's private workshop, giving Valyr a bit of time to think about a couple of things as the man beside him was busy communicating with the guild's staff.
'I'm surprised that I was able to gather almost 2,000 pieces of equipment from those two caches,' thought Valyr to himself. 'After all, with how much time has passed, most of them should've turned to dust already.'
'Then again, if I also include the pieces of equipment I didn't grab since they didn't meet the criteria, the number of equipment would've definitely reached over 2,000.'
By the time Valyr was finished gathering all of the equipment within the Gates of Enlightenment's material cache, the number of equipment he'd gathered was around 1,400 pieces.
On the other hand, the material cache within the Gates of Ascension only amounted to about 400 pieces, though it made up for it with the fact that all of the equipment there were of higher quality and rarity.
Naturally, with the concept of the Triad Gates existing within the inheritance, it went without saying that Valyr also took a look at the Gates of Transcendence to see if it had a material cache.
However, unlike the time when he grabbed skills from the Gates of Transcendence, there were no material cache to speak of, nor any pieces of equipment that could be found whatsoever.
'Well, Vaughn did say the Gates of Transcendence was just a place in name,' murmured Valyr to himself, only for a different thought to surface in his mind. 'Speaking of which… should I grab the skills from the skill pavilions?'
Recalling how most, if not all the players that visited shop wanted to get their hands on [Analysis] after Valyr showed them how much more information the skill gave them, the young man was briefly reminded of the skill pavilions in the inheritance.
'Nah, there's no need for that.' However, after mulling over the thought for a bit, Valyr eventually decided not to pursue the matter any further. 'Though it would definitely put me into the good graces of the players if I do it, I'd be worsening the relationship I have with the village in exchange.'
'Yeah… it's definitely better to entertain the idea after I establish my organization instead.'
…
By the time the two returned to the workshop, it was no surprise that Julian began to talk about how Valyr was doing back in the village he went to, especially with the appearance of the players thanks to the version update.
Though he had a feeling that the man was asking him such a question for a different reason, the young man decided to be oblivious to it, considering that the active aid of one of the class guilds would definitely increase the speed at which players got stronger.
And thus, he gave Julian a brief but thorough overview of what the players were like when they first appeared, talking about how they seemed more than eager to get stronger through any means possible.
Of course, Valyr also noticed the man's eyes widening in slight surprise when he heard from him that they had less of a need for sleep.
"Well, they'd still need sleep after some time," said the young man, recalling how often he and other players spent days without any sleep in the game back then. "But they definitely have more endurance in that regard."
"…I see."
Thankfully, that was more than enough to pique Julian's interest, allowing Valyr to inwardly let out a wide sigh of relief the moment they decided to part ways.
"You've really helped the Blacksmith Guild out with the equipment you've given us." Escorting Valyr to the guild's Teleportation Hall, Julian gave the young man a few more words of gratitude.
"If you ever need anything from the guild, just send me a message. We'll try our best to fulfill it."
"Anything, you say?" Hearing those words, a random thought popped up in Valyr's mind, causing a faint smile to appear on his face.
"If that's the case, then…"
Listening to the words that came out of Valyr's mouth, Julian's expression underwent various changes in a matter of seconds, going from shock to surprise before eventually landing on disbelief.
By the time Valyr was done listing down what he wanted, the man had a great urge to ask him in return as to what he wanted them for. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Unfortunately, before the question could even leave his mouth… The young man had already disappeared from his field of vision.
Whoosh!
…
"With Julian taking care of those, I suppose it won't be long before I can upgrade my True Wyvern Armor to the next tier."
Appearing in Leivard Town once more through their Blacksmith Guild's Teleportation Hall, Valyr activated both [Flash of the Azure Dragon] and [Azure Dragon Soaring Skies] the moment he left, reminding himself that two days had passed while he was in the inheritance.
Whoosh!
"I wonder if they've forgotten about me." Moving through the skies at great speeds, Valyr thought out loud as he murmured to himself. "I've only met up with the players for one day so far, after all."
"Considering the difference in time between here and Earth, players only had like three hours to find the shop and interact with me."
"Add on the fact that I've spent the next two days after that in the inheritance, I wouldn't be surprised if many of them changed their thoughts as to what kind of NPC I am."
"Well, whatever their impression of me turns out to be, I'll try to turn it into something positive."
Letting out a long exhale at the thought, the young man soon focused all of his attention towards heading back to Daffors Village as quickly as possible, allowing his speed to go up by one more notch because of it.
With that, it took far less time for the young man than before to arrive at the entrance to the village, immediately noticing the large number of players moving around the outskirts of the village for monsters to hunt.
Moving past these groups of players, Valyr began to make his way to his shop as he thought about preparing something special in order for players to return their attention to him.
Though, by the time he got there, those thoughts disappeared from his mind, especially after noticing that a lot of players were loitering around the area, all of them seemingly waiting for his shop to open.
"This is…"
