Chapter 566: Chapter 566 - Morel’s Fury and the Flames Beyond
The forest, trees, and everything in the surrounding area were engulfed in a massive explosion, with debris torn from the ground and hurled far into the air. Even the cameras struggled to capture the scene as it truly was, overpowered by the sheer scale of the destruction.
Tora shielded his eyes as the blast wave forced him back a few steps. "Damn, this is a truly devastating attack-it's insane to witness it firsthand."
"I can't even see what's happening anymore," Tora told his viewers. "What you're seeing is a blend of monster attacks- and I think it's safe to say that this time, Morel is facing true monsters in the form of humans."
For a split second, it was as if time itself paused. The relentless lightning strikes from Elincia continued to crash down like judgment from above. Tora had positioned himself far enough back to avoid the full environmental effects of the devastation. Still, even as a bystander, it was challenging to keep his footing to record the unfolding chaos.
"Cameraman here-I just hope I survive to bring you all of this, ha ha!"
The comment section was flooded:
"Oh my god, is anyone even alive after that?!"
"Morel just got absolutely WRECKED! Broken's team is unstoppable!" "I'm screaming! BROKEN IS THE ULTIMATE BOSS HERE, not Morel!" "Did anyone else feel that shockwave, or is it just me going crazy?"
"Tora, your commentary is everything right now-stay safe, we need you to record the rest!"
As the debris and shockwave from the attack began to fade and the effects of the Spellweaver Chrono Booster wore off, the team realized one grim fact-Morel wasn't dead. No death notification had appeared.
Before them stood Morel, his towering form riddled with cracks, parts of his body nearly shattered. And then, something alarming happened-beams of light began to shoot from his body, spreading waves of energy in all directions in rapid, pulsing blasts. It happened so quickly that none of them had a chance to respond.
"Take cover!" Broken shouted.
They all knew what this meant-Morel was attempting a final, desperate act: self- destruction.
Elincia, hovering in the air, hesitated, glancing down at Broken and the others.
"Everyone, go! We'll be fine!" Broken called out loudly.
"Damn, this is infuriating!" Melliandra shouted, still sprinting across her transparent platforms, casting a worried glance back. "That blast will kill Ivana and Princess Alora! Broken, you'd better take responsibility if anything happens to them!"
Without hesitation, Broken equipped the Moonlight Barrier Cape, a gift from Elaine.
[Moonlight Dome Barrier (Active Skill)]
Instantly, a dome of shimmering energy materialized around Broken. Ivana and Alora dashed toward him for protection, while Kingsley, still in his massive form, shifted into a hawk and took flight.
Polly tried to fly closer. "Master!" she cried, but they didn't have enough time for Polly to carry all three of them to safety.
"Polly, go! We'll survive, trust me," Broken called firmly.
"Master!" Polly cried one last time before her form vanished into the air.
Ivana then activated her own protective shield skills, layering her barriers on top of Broken's dome.
One by one, the shields and barriers stacked, creating a fortified dome around the group as they braced themselves against Morel's final, devastating attempt to destroy them all.
It all happened in a blinding instant-a massive explosion, so intense that for a moment, time itself seemed to freeze, sucked into the silent void of impact.
Then, with terrifying force, the explosion erupted outward, sending towering flames surging in every direction, consuming everything in its path as if devouring the forest itself.
The shockwave rippled with devastating power. Elincia, hovering above, was thrown backward, her body spinning wildly in mid-air as she fought to regain balance. Kingsley, still in hawk form, took a direct hit and was flung violently into the distance. Melliandra, unable to hold her footing, plummeted from her platform in the air.
But before she could hit the ground, someone caught her-Tora, who had somehow sprouted a pair of ethereal wings on his shoulders. Flapping furiously, he steadied Melliandra in his arms, whisking her safely away from the blast.
The explosion continued to roar, flames licking at the dome barrier Broken had conjured. The protective layers glowed under the relentless assault, their surfaces flickering as the firestorm tried to tear them apart.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Broken braced himself, feeling the strain against the Moonlight Dome Barrier as it absorbed the impact. Ivana's shields layered upon it, straining under the intense force, as Alora held her stance, her eyes fixed on the walls of fire pressing in on them.
Around them, the once-lush forest was transformed into a blazing inferno. The ground shook, and the searing heat reached even through the barrier, its intensity a brutal reminder of Morel's final desperate strike.
Those few seconds had stretched into what felt like an eternity, filled with fear, tension, and uncertainty. As the flames and smoke cleared, Elincia, Kingsley, and Tora rushed back toward Broken's position, anxious to confirm the safety of their teammates.
Nothing could have happened to them, they all silently vowed-it just couldn't.
When they drew close, their worries were finally eased. Broken, Ivana, and Princess Alora stood there, unharmed and intact. Somehow, whatever skills or tactics they had used had been enough to shield them from the explosion's devastating impact. They had survived.
"Put me down, now!" Melliandra said, still being carried by Tora.
"Oh, right, sorry," he said with a grin, gently setting her down.
And Morel? Morel's towering Fae Beast form had faded, leaving him back in his original Fae body, his frame battered and broken, with parts of his armor shattered. His gaze was hollow, filled with a desperate emptiness.
What had just happened?
Broken approached the Fae Knight slowly, his Wavebreaker Spear in hand.
"That... that cape... Lady Elaine's... how... dare you..." Morel managed, his voice weak and
trembling with barely-contained anger.
Broken moved closer, the tip of his spear leveled at Morel's neck.
"You won't succeed in this mission," Morel rasped, his voice fading. "Your fate is sealed...
death will come for you-if not by my hand, then by the hands of others."
"Your foolishness has brought ruin upon your own tribe, Morel. If only you had followed Elaine, none of this would have happened."
"Shut up and prepare to face your own destruction, Broken!" Morel retorted fiercely.
"You're the cause of your tribe's downfall," Broken replied coldly. "Your people have been slaughtered, and soon they'll all be wiped out. All of this is the result of the hatred you fueled
yourself."
"You're just lost in your own delusions, Broken. Everything is over for you!" Morel spat back.
"No, not for me-but for you, and for your tribe." Broken's mouth curved into a faint smile. "I had thought of letting you live just long enough to see your people fall, but I think it's time you took this regret with you to the grave."
"My decisions have never been wrong. From the beginning, I knew you intended to destroy us. But no, that's not going to happen," Morel declared.
"We wouldn't have even survived to face you if you hadn't sent those Forest Guardians our way, and left a Legendary-grade item with me. Oh, and thanks for the ring dropped by Cedar, that poor Knight. I killed the Forest Guardians with this ring's power. It's the perfect scenario -one that'll strip away every last shred of your pride."
"You will die... my tribe will live... you'll all be- " Morel's words were cut short as Broken's spear sliced through his neck, separating his head from his body in one swift motion.
A death notification appeared, signaling the end of the battle. Everyone exhaled in relief, the tension easing slightly as they realized they had cleared yet another daunting obstacle. But their relief was short-lived-the alarm went off again, and Kingsley immediately shifted back into his Bear Form, readying himself. They turned to see multiple figures approaching from various directions.
A figure cloaked in a black veil leapt forward, twin longswords spinning as it landed on the
ground.
[Eternal Flame Shadow Lv. 211]
Another-a massive bat with enormous wings-swooped down, letting out an ear-piercing
screech that rattled the air.
[Eternal Flame Nightwing Lv. 208]
And the count didn't stop there. One by one, more of these Eternal Flame beasts closed in
until a total of five surrounded them.
Time was running thin; they couldn't afford to be stalled by this new wave of Eternal Flame
foes!
