Chapter 1180 Excitement in Battle: Dragonic Wolf
Upon seeing the limited effects of their attacks, Reign quickly adjusted their approach.
"Tank, Greenie, Uncle Jin, shield, fist, and hammer, bash this bastard up, soften it up first!"
Upon shouting, Reign quickly jumped forward, discarding his swords and clenching his hands into fists.
Wolf and Shadow glanced at him before they both smirked and moved as well, Shadow doing the same as Reign while Wolf grabbed his sword and charged. Even though it was not a blunt weapon, his sword was more than heavy and large enough to cause some heavy blunt damage as well.
Aelrinder stood behind them all, holding his spear, green wind coiling around it as he slowly and carefully channeled mana to it, ready to attack with full force once Reign and the others softened the wolf up.
Beast was doing the same with his bow and arrow, holding the bow straight and aiming at the wolf with great concentration as his wind swirled around the tip of the arrow.
Laura, on the other hand, was concentrating on healing any of them if any of them got injured, not taking action until then.
Mia was focusing on a large hammer made out of ice that she conjured right above her head, ready to drop it down on the wolf once it was as strong as she wanted it to be.
As Reign and the others launched their assault, Tank, Greenie, and Jin quickly moved as well, forming a brutal frontline. The combined force that was coming at the wolf made for an intimidating sight, and even the massive creature was momentarily taken aback by the sheer intensity of the aura coming toward him, the seemingly eager faces of Reign and the others who couldn't wait to start punching and pummeling it.
The bloodlust coming from them all made the wolf pause for a moment, and that was all that they needed. Tank arrived first, slamming into the creature's leg with his shield, throwing it off balance for a moment, which allowed Greenie and Jin to follow with crushing blows from their weapons. Greenie's hammer and Jin's fists landed, resounding cracks being heard as the scales of the wolf were damaged by the sheer power behind their attacks.
The beast slightly stumbled from the attacks, its massive body shuddering as the impact reverberated through its thick scales, some of them cracking, some breaking entirely. Still, the cracks quickly started healing, and even the broken parts of the body were slowly regenerating, new scales forming.
Wolf and the others arrived at that moment, attacking the massive beast. He moved in from the side, swinging his massive sword in a brutal arc aimed directly at the beast's forelimb. His flames flickered weakly around the blade, but his sheer strength gave the blow weight. The blade clanged against the scales, leaving a deep groove, and while it didn't manage to draw any blood or cut through the powerful scales, they were now nearly useless.
Wolf wasn't finished, however.
He immediately let go of the sword, spun in place, and suddenly delivered a powerful punch, his fist coated in flames, completely red. His attack came with great velocity, but merely 5 inches away from the leg, his body suddenly shifted, his hips moving, and his fist suddenly moving incredibly quickly.
In fact, it was about 5 times faster than before. The fist broke through the sound barrier previously, and now, it was multiple times faster than sound itself.
[ Explosive Volcanic Punch ]
It was an improvement over his previous skill, one that he had learned from Jin, whose fists were undoubtedly unmatched in the group, perhaps even in the entire world. Wolf and the others doubted that there were more than a handful of people who could contend against Jin when it came to sheer skill when using his fists and legs.
The punch landed, the scales breaking, flames exploding around the leg, forcing even the bones to crack, but that was true for both Wolf and the wolf. Laura had already been on standby, and upon noticing what happened, quickly started healing Wolf while Reign and Shadow appeared on the back of the wolf, both of them doing the same attack, an axe kick from high above.
Their feet smashed down onto the wolf-dragon's back, sending a sharp crack through the air as its armored scales buckled under the force of the dual kick. The wolf let out a furious, guttural snarl, its amber eyes blazing with rage and desperation as it struggled to regain its footing. The momentary unsteadiness was all the opportunity the team needed to unleash their most powerful attacks.
And even then, the kicks were only the opening to Reign's and Shadow's attacks. Their eyes blazed with ferocity, smiles forming on their faces as a feeling they had not felt for a long time emerged deep within them.
Excitement during battle, excitement that one could only feel when using their body as a weapon, betting it all on the strength of their muscles and bones. They landed after kicking, and upon landing on the now shaking back of the wolf, they both raised their right hands, which were coated in lightning and darkness, and struck down.
A powerful shockwave passed through the body of the wolf, blood escaping from its mouth as lightning and darkness exploded on its back, scales breaking, bones cracking. That was the signal for the others to unleash their attacks.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Mia's hammer fell down on the head of the Wolf, further causing it to be confused and not knowing where it was, probably suffering a concussion.
Aelrinder, his spear now fully charged with emerald wind, stepped forward. His eyes narrowed as he took a deep breath, centering himself. "This is it!" he shouted, and with a swift, fluid motion, he released a burst of green energy from his spear. The wind spiraled toward the wolf's weakened leg, the energy slicing through the air like a comet, aimed directly at the fractures and broken scales they'd managed to create.
The strike hit its mark perfectly, piercing through the creature's limb. A howl of pure agony erupted from the wolf, its body shuddering as it collapsed onto its front legs, the damage from Aelrinder's attack too great for it to ignore. The wind continued to slice into its flesh, leaving a shimmering glow around the wound, making it difficult for the beast to heal as quickly as before.
"Now, all at once!" Reign commanded, his voice hoarse but resolute.
Beast, watching the wolf's struggling form, saw his chance and unleashed the arrow he had prepared, releasing it with the power of his mark. The arrow blazed with a surge of concentrated wind energy as it shot through the air, streaking toward the creature's exposed chest. It pierced deep, lodging itself close to the creature's heart, and the powerful impact forced the wolf back a step, making it stumble further as it struggled to remain upright.
The beast, now battered and bleeding, let out another furious roar, and in a final act of desperation, it reared back, drawing upon the last vestiges of its power. Shadowy tendrils spiraled out from its body, lashing out at the group in a frenzied, uncontrollable frenzy. The darkness coiled and twisted around them, the pressure making it nearly impossible to breathe.
Reign's eyes narrowed as he summoned every bit of his remaining mana, the lightning around his swords flaring to life once more, though dimmer than before. He pushed through the shadows, slicing through the tendrils one by one as he fought his way closer to the beast's core. Wolf, Tank, and the others, despite their exhaustion, moved in tandem, dodging the relentless attacks and pressing forward.

The ground beneath them trembled as the massive wolf-dragon took one last, defiant stand. It raised its head high, drawing in a final breath, and in that instant, Reign saw his opening. With a burst of speed, he charged forward, leaping high into the air and driving both of his swords down in a powerful, lightning-infused stab directly into the beast's exposed neck.
The impact was explosive, the white lightning surging through the wolf's veins, causing its entire body to convulse. The wolf-dragon's roar turned into a choked growl, its strength finally waning as the light in its amber eyes began to fade. Reign held his grip on the swords, pouring every last spark of his energy into the creature, determined to end the fight once and for all.
With one final, defiant snarl, the creature collapsed, its massive body hitting the ground with a resounding thud that echoed through the forest. The massive body no longer moved, the scales dimmed, losing their brightness, the light inside the eyes of the wolf dissipated, and the powerful opponent was finally dead.
"This, this was easier than I expected," Tank said with a slight pant as Reign smiled at him.
"That was because we held nothing back and used the correct tactic to take this thing down."
