Chapter 62
Quan Zhisui, furious, pinned Wei Shixu against the wall and beat him relentlessly. After finishing, she grabbed his uniform collar with both hands, her eyes blazing with anger as she glared at him.
She swore she had never been this infuriated by anyone before!
In her seventeen years of life, no one had ever dared to provoke her like this!
And belittle her!
Breathing heavily, she demanded, "Are you looking for death?"
What did he think of her? How could he say such things!
Wei Shixu was covered in bruises, and the impact against the wall had been particularly severe, producing a loud, dull thud!
But it was as if he couldn’t feel the pain. He continued to stare at Quan Zhisui with that same reckless gaze.
"Who’s better-looking, me or your senior brother?" he asked.
"My senior brother!" Quan Zhisui answered without hesitation.
Wei Shixu’s eyes burned with fury and a crimson hue, as if they were on fire!

"Who treats you better, me or your senior brother?" he pressed.
"My senior brother!!!" Quan Zhisui’s gaze was fierce and domineering at that moment.
Wei Shixu stubbornly asked a third question, "What makes your senior brother better than me?"
Quan Zhisui tightened her grip on his collar and leaned in, roaring, "Yes! My senior brother is better! Better than you in every way! How dare you compare yourself to him?!"
"Damn it…" Wei Shixu cursed under his breath.
Then, he reached out and hooked his arm around Quan Zhisui’s neck.
He didn’t have the strength to pull her closer, so he tilted his head up, enduring the excruciating pain in his body as he leaned in.
And bit her!
No more trying to placate her!
The moment their lips touched…
Quan Zhisui’s eyes widened in shock, her anger replaced by sheer disbelief!
Wei Shixu’s eyes were open, filled with gloom and resentment.
Even if she beat him to death today, he was determined to taste her lips!
Quan Zhisui trembled, raised her hand, and struck with force.
Bam!
A hard punch landed on his face!
Wei Shixu, as if he had anticipated it, clenched his teeth at the moment of impact.
A metallic taste of blood filled the air as they separated!
His head tilted to the side, and he wiped the blood from his mouth with his hand, a smirk playing on his lips.
He had been hit, but he had won.
He didn’t believe her senior brother had ever bitten her lips!
Quan Zhisui took a step back, staring at him in disbelief. How could he still be smiling?!
Wei Shixu was definitely insane, she was absolutely certain of it!
Swish—
At that moment, Kong Mingze rushed in, carrying a stack of books and papers. When he saw the scene before him, he was utterly devastated.
The fragile friendship they had built had been shattered!
Completely destroyed!
Quan Zhisui didn’t attend the rest of the class. She was called to the teacher’s office to face questioning from their homeroom teacher, Qian Ya.
Wei Shixu, who had been beaten up, was also present. His uniform was torn, his body covered in bruises, his face bloodied, and a large scratch marred his cheek.
Yet, even in such a sorry state, he still exuded a kind of battle-worn handsomeness.
Because he stood there with an air of indifference, as if he hadn’t been the one beaten.
It was infuriating, and Quan Zhisui was at a loss for words.
The two of them refused to look at each other, standing far apart as if separated by an entire river.
Zhuge Ying and Kong Mingze were also in the office, the former there in her capacity as class monitor and the latter because he was worried and had stubbornly tagged along.
Qian Ya remained silent for a long time before finally asking, "Now, tell me, who hit whom?"
Wei Shixu said nothing.
Quan Zhisui: "I hit him."
Qian Ya: "Why did you hit him?"
Zhuge Ying quickly interjected, "Because Wei Shixu threw Quan Zhisui’s books and papers on the ground. Kong Mingze can testify to that."
Kong Mingze had been the one to pick up those items, and everyone had seen it.
Zhuge Ying wasn’t being biased; she just felt that Quan Zhisui wouldn’t hit someone without a reason, especially not Wei Shixu, with whom she had some ambiguous tension.
Wei Shixu’s status was special—no matter what he did at Liang High, he wouldn’t be punished. But Quan Zhisui was different.
However, to everyone’s surprise, Quan Zhisui shook her head. "That’s not the reason."
Zhuge Ying’s eyes widened. "???"
Kong Mingze: "Huh?"
Both of them were baffled. What was she doing?
Qian Ya asked again, "Then what was the reason?"
Quan Zhisui remained silent, just like the mute surnamed Wei standing beside her.
Qian Ya: "…"
She had a headache. A really bad one!
What on earth was going on with these two students?
After a long pause, Zhuge Ying spoke up again. "Teacher Qian, Quan Zhisui is also injured. Her lip is cut."
If it was a one-sided beating, the school wouldn’t be able to justify it to the Wei family. Under pressure, they would have to give Quan Zhisui a demerit. But if it was a mutual fight, the situation would be different, especially since Quan Zhisui was a girl.
Zhuge Ying didn’t know what had happened, but she wanted to protect Quan Zhisui, who was at a disadvantage in every way.
Qian Ya looked at Quan Zhisui’s swollen, bloodied lip and asked Wei Shixu, "Did you hit her too?"
Wei Shixu let out a strange laugh but still didn’t say a word.
Qian Ya: "…"
She was going insane! Completely insane!
Qian Ya turned to Quan Zhisui again, this time more sternly. "What really happened?!"
Quan Zhisui looked up, her eyes clear and bright. "Teacher, just give me a demerit. I don’t want to explain."
Wei Shixu glanced at her—this was the first time he had looked at her since entering the office.
"Say it," he said brazenly.
Quan Zhisui stood straight, refusing to even glance at him out of the corner of her eye.
She continued, addressing Qian Ya, "Teacher, give me a demerit, a major one. Call my parents if you have to."
Qian Ya was at her wit’s end and waved her hand dismissively. "Fine. Why don’t the two of you discuss this privately and figure out how to resolve it?"
She couldn’t control Wei Shixu, and now it seemed she couldn’t control Quan Zhisui either.
Both of them had their own stubborn personalities and ideas.
One refused to speak, and the other was eager to take the blame!
Zhuge Ying’s eyes lit up at this suggestion. She quickly grabbed Quan Zhisui’s hand. "You two should talk it out privately. Have a proper conversation."
"I’m not talking," Quan Zhisui flatly refused.
Wei Shixu’s tone was as lifeless as stagnant water. "Let’s just end it here."
Zhuge Ying’s heart sank. She suddenly looked at the two of them.
What was ending?
Was it just this incident, or was something else ending?
Wei Shixu’s aura was dark and heavy, returning to his usual half-dead, gloomy self.
Quan Zhisui, on the other hand, remained calm, silent, and emotionless.
The little group of four had fallen apart.
Qian Ya personally rearranged the seating. Wei Shixu was moved back to his seat by the window in the first row. Zhuge Ying was seated by the corridor in the first row, near the front door. Kong Mingze’s seat remained unchanged, still by the corridor in the last row near the back door. Quan Zhisui was assigned to the last row by the window.
The four of them were now as far apart as possible, each occupying a corner of the classroom.
There was no longer even a diagonal line connecting Quan Zhisui and Wei Shixu—just a column of classmates’ heads between them.
Quan Zhisui wasn’t given a demerit, and Wei Shixu never came to the back row again.
He reverted to his old ways—attending class, eating, watching movies, and getting acupuncture treatments. He ignored everyone, except for occasionally acknowledging Kong Mingze. His grades remained impeccable, as he continued to hold the top spot in the grade.
Finally, after a week of this, Kong Mingze couldn’t take it anymore. After school that day, he called Quan Zhisui and Zhuge Ying to meet him in a quiet corridor where few people passed by.
