Chapter 1699: Did you enjoy the show?
"So you are the Leader?"
"Ye- N-No."
The Skeleton didn't know how to react.
"Then it must mean you are the most useful one here, correct?"
"W-Wha…"
The Skeleton was taken aback, soon however, he understood the meaning behind Nux's words and saw his chance.
"Yes Yes! I am the most useful one here!
I have been living in Nexus majority of my life!
You are new here, correct? I am sure there are a lot of things you would want to know about, I am sure I can guide you well!
You don't even have to pay me in any way, I can guide you through Nexus and help you settle in.
Whether it is to take missions, give missions, find a team to work with, or a place to live in, or anything else you need here, I can guide you through it all!
I assure you, I will be very useful!
It would definitely be much more efficient than wandering around and figuring out everything on your own!"
The Skeleton was a smart man, he knew how to jump on an opportunity when he was presented with one.
This mad had killed the third strongest of their group in an instant, not to mention killing another with a mere look, sure, he was stronger than both the people who were killed, however, this didn't mean he was capable of doing what this man did.
This man moved so fast that none here could see him, he slashed a Sovereign in half and killed a Protector with some unknown means,
No matter how he thought about it,
This man was bad news.
The skeleton knew that surrender was the only way to survive.
He would surrender, do as he was told, help this man in any way possible, and then leave.
That was the most logical way of dealing with this situation.
"If you can do all of that on your own, this means the rest are not needed, correct?"
Suddenly, Nux questioned as he stared into Skeleton's Hollow eyes.
The Skeleton trembled, as much as he wanted to save his group, for some reason, he had a feeling that the moment he said something to save them, he would lower his own value, it meant that he would be risking his own life for the sake of his 'comrades' and honestly…
Comrades they were not.
Just as Nux thought, they were merely some ragtag group, yes, they had been working for a while, so there was a sense of comradery, but risking his life for their sake?
The Skeleton had no plans to do something so foolish.
"Ye-"
Before the Skeleton could say anything, Nux waved his hand. The next instant, all beings present here felt a strange force taking control over their bodies and then,
*Crack* *Crack* *Crack*
Their heads moved in an unnatural manner, detaching from their bodies.
*Splat* *Splat* *Splat*
Blood came out of their necks like a fountain and in an instant, all seven lost their lives, the only ones remaining in the alleyway were Nux and the Skeleton, who was frightened to his Core.
The Skeleton's body trembled nonstop, if it could, it would have peed in fright already, just looking at the man, who wiped out his entire team in a few seconds as if they were nothing more than bugs made him understand what kind of foolish decision it was to try and 'show him his place'.
Honestly, the Skeleton regretted it.
Just like most decisions, the decision to follow Nux was also his and he finally understood how wrong it was.
He was just glad that his quick thinking saved him in this situation.
As long as he did a good job as a guide, he would get out of the situation alive, and the Skeleton was prepared to give his all.
He would make sure to not disappoint Nux in any way, even using all the contacts he had made in Nexus if he had to.
He would make sure to get out of this situation alive…
Unfortunately,
That… was just not possible.
The Skeleton suddenly felt Nux strengthening his grip on his skull.
"W-W-What are yo-"
He wanted to ask, however, the moment he looked into Nux's eyes, he realized that his golden eyes had turned Blood red.
A chill ran down the Skeleton's spine, his instinct warned him not to look at those crimson eyes, however,
It was already too late.
"Are you willing to be my Slave?"
[Say yes.]
"Yes."
The instant he said yes, a strange energy entered his body.
'W-What is this ener-'
Before he could understand anything, Nux started scanning through his memories, and once he was done.
"So you were the one who decided to follow me."
"!!!"
"I thought I would make it painless, but of well,
If you wished for a terrible death, you should have said so."
Nux shrugged and the next instant,
"AAAAGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
The Slave Seal's pain activated and while Nux continued to organize all the memories he had scanned, sorting out the important information and weeding out the useless ones, all while the Skeleton continued to roll over the ground, screaming in absolute agony, wishing for death every single second.
His wish was granted when Nux was done organizing everything.
He decided to be merciful because he was quite satisfied,
"I gained quite a lot."
He spoke.
Then, his eyes looked at a certain being who had been keeping an eye on him all this while and then, a frightening smile appeared on his face.
"Did you enjoy the show?"
"!!!"
Vajra widened his eyes in fright.
This was how he came to the present situation.
He thought that it was over, he was taken aback by how quickly the newbie killed and overpowered his enemies, the Skeleton's screams still rang in his ears, however, as someone who had been through countless battles, all of that wasn't enough to scare him.
However, the instant Nux turned, everything changed.
He moved with a slow, deliberate motion, raising his head, and fixed his eyes directly on Vajra.
Vajra's thoughts froze as primal fear overtook everything.
Nux was impossibly far away. The only reason he could even see him was because of his special eye, then how come…
Was he staring back…?
*Gulp*
Vajra gulped.
Fearing the future that awaited him.
