Chapter 157: The Proces
Erza took a few steps forward and touched the skeleton, caressing it gently as if it were a priceless treasure.
"It could destroy the present earth if only it were alive and had flesh," she said, much to David and Mery's surprise.
The strength of the skeleton turned out to be more than the latter had expected. Or rather, the power of beings at the deity level was indeed too strong.
Then how big was the earth in ancient times to be able to accommodate these deities.
David became curious about the ancient times that he didn't know anything about.
The explanation about it that he heard from Jane was still too vague.
Who knew whether or not Jane knew the details about it.
"Honey," Erza said, turning her gaze to David.
"Jump on top of this skeleton's head." She instructed.
David didn't question her reasoning as he was sure it was part of the process.
He then jumped onto the skeleton's head which was actually facing towards them.
Whoosh!
With one leap, he reached the head of the skeleton which was as big as a container truck.
Standing there was quite comfortable, feeling like he was the ruler of the world.
His eyes looked up at Erza, the rain not interfering with his view at all.
However, he had to admit that this forest was quite dangerous when it rained like this.
Occasionally, there was lightning that fell not far from the lake.
"Please sit down," Erza said again.
David did as she asked.
After that, Erza pointed her hand at the skeleton.
"Dear, close your eyes and concentrate. Think as if you are connected to the skeleton," she continued.
As she said that, David saw blood flowing out of her fingers, like threads because they were so thin.
They moved quickly until they stuck to the skeleton's head, surrounding David.
Strangely, the threadlike blood began to undulate, as if something was flowing through the gap in them, entering the skeleton.
After that, the threads suddenly formed new threads that stuck to David's head.
The result was quite amazing as the skeleton instantly shook.
David was still able to observe the situation even with his eyes closed as he could sense his surroundings clearly since his strength had increased dramatically.
However, he focused on the sensation in his head.
Erza asked him to think as if he was connected to the skeleton. Right now, that feeling was really very clear.
He felt like the skeleton was his limb. The entire skeleton was very large, so the sensation of being connected to it was quite strange.
This method seemed to rely on blood, but David could not understand how blood could make a skeleton into a puppet. Perhaps the blood of vampires was unique.
"Honey!" David suddenly heard Erza's voice and her voice instantly appeared inside his head.
"Basically, my blood can create new life into this skeleton. It's fake life, but it can continue to evolve and it needs your soul as its main source for you to be the controller of that life." Apparently, Erza explained how this method worked.
"Since it uses your soul, so it might make your head hurt a lot in the process, you should be prepared," Erza added.
David didn't know how to respond to her words, so he ended up nodding his head slightly to let her know that he understood.
Just hearing that his head would hurt a lot did not make him feel nervous in the slightest.
He calmly waited for the actual process to begin.
However, just a moment later, he almost opened his eyes due to the extremely strong painful sensation in his head.
This exceeded his expectations. Even his mouth was almost open. If he wasn't prepared, he probably would have screamed.
He forced himself to calm down, even using his nails against his fingers to create pain elsewhere so that he could forget about the pain in his head for a few moments.
The good thing was that his strength actually helped him maintain his endurance so that he could endure the pain better.
The sensation that he was connected to the skeleton became much stronger.
He could feel the power of the skeleton.
Unfortunately, that power was empty, as if only the skeleton was left.
What he could feel was the power that the skeleton could contain had it been in its peak state.
The earth that could hold billions of humans seemed insignificant compared to the power that the skeleton could hold.
It was now no surprise to him that the skeleton could indeed easily destroy the earth.
As something was taken from inside its head, David slowly felt something life-like rise up inside the skeleton's head.
Slowly, he began to feel that he could move the skeleton, and it only took a single thought from him. Even a single thought was enough to make the skeleton fight on its own because it still had its own fighting memories.
The process became faster with time.
It seemed that Erza also found it easy to do as he did not scream from the pain.
"Honey, any minute now!" David heard Erza's voice again, softer than before as if she wanted to make him comfortable with her voice.
David remained calm and continued to wait.
He had already adapted to the pain in his head. Even if it lasted another day, he didn't care.
However, it really wasn't that much longer.
After a while, the pain in David's head disappeared. His body also felt good after the experience.
"It's over," Erza said.
David opened his eyes directly hearing that, not finding any changes in front of him but the skeleton he was sitting on was no longer just a skeleton.
He couldn't help but smile slightly as he was one hundred percent sure he could control the skeleton perfectly.
His eyes then looked at Erza.
Surprisingly enough, the woman was kneeling, looking extremely exhausted while her skin had become extremely pale.
She was also sweating, clearly visible despite the rain.
If it wasn't for Mery holding her body, she would probably be lying down.
David chose to jump to her first, wanting to check on her condition.
"Are you okay?" he asked her.
David himself had never experienced such a condition since he had spiritual power. He thought he would only be like that if he used his power too much.
Erza forced a smile as she looked at him.
"Don't worry, I just need to recover my energy," she said in a trembling voice.
Even speaking seemed difficult for her. Although this woman had come in a less than flattering way into his life, still she was now his woman. He couldn't help but worry.
After a moment of thought, David knelt beside her, pointing his hand at her.
"Do you want my blood now?" he asked, much to her surprise.
It instantly made her dim eyes shine brightly.
"Sure," she said, nodding repeatedly.
She was indeed the straightforward type, and when offered his blood, she did not mince words in agreeing.
"However," she continued, shifting her gaze to his neck.
"I need to suck your blood through your neck," she added.
David rolled his eyes at that. Actually he had guessed it because in vampire movies it was usually like that, but he was a bit horrified when his blood was sucked from his neck. What if he suddenly died.
However, he did not refuse because Erza needed help now.
He lifted his chin up slightly, allowing her to suck his blood through his neck.
Erza acts immediately. She hugs his waist, pressing her breasts against his body before kissing his neck.
The first thing she did was apparently to lick his neck, making him feel tingly to the point of almost shaking.
After that, she suddenly bit his neck, making his eyes widen as he felt two large needles pierce his skin.
The woman was clearly showing her fangs now, which were hidden under ordinary conditions.
After that, his blood flowed out of his neck, entering the woman's mouth.
It didn't really hurt but he could feel the lack of blood quickly.
The good thing was that the power in his body was producing new blood faster.
When he looked at Erza's skin again, he found that her body was no longer pale.
"Ahhh..." The woman finally stopped, sighing in relief as if she had just drunk cold water after passing through a hot desert.
Her expression had become very refreshed.
"This is really amazing, I just felt like I was in Heaven. Even my strength immediately increased a lot," she said, looking at her own hands.
David rolled his eyes at that. He had never seen Erza more excited than now.
This woman seemed to be starting to think of him as food again.
However, he chose not to comment on it. This was now the fate between them.
He then stood up, and turned his gaze to the skeleton.
Just as he stood up, Erza suddenly grabbed his hand.
When he looked up at her face, she smiled strangely.
"Honey, can I ask for your blood again. Just a little more, my strength might reach a new level," she said with a pleading but embarrassed expression.
