Chapter 160 Han Li's Enlightenment
160 Han Li's Enlightenment
The City of the Sacred Demon. What was so special about this place?
Han Li stood in the central part of the city, above one of the numerous buildings scattered across the city's kilometer-long existence. Looking towards the actual heart of it all, Han Li couldn't help but feel a slight sensation of awe. There was a great Statue there, its size so vast he couldn't see its full form from where he was standing. Under the statue's legs, he knew the Sacred Demon himself wrote some words. He had read that in his past life, it read: "A mere attempt at mimicking the greatness of the Sacreds, yet the one who sculpted this one was a great one, the most striking of all statues I had seen, yet only half my size."
A sudden breeze lifted his lustrous black hair, and his gaze moved up. The statue's head would have surely pierced the clouds had it been in the real world. Han Li's eyes shimmered. He couldn't even make out the face from where he was. It was way too vast.
"So, that was how the Sacred Demon of Lust looked?" His disciple said from the side, full of awe and wonder. "He would have destroyed cities by just walking past. Is that even stone?"
Han Li didn't reply. He was contemplative now. Such a great being, born at the primordial times of the whole Seven Continents, the embodiment of the Life Great Dao. Yet today?
He was nothing. Sacred Demon had long died. And what about his death?
It was no different from the death of an ant. Today, he might not be forgotten, but a time would arrive when even he would be forgotten. Then, his existence would have nothing differing from an ant that had died; both would just be ash.
Living for one day, for ten days, for one thousand days, for ten thousand days, or even for one hundred thousand days was the same. As long as they died, they would soon be the same as any. In due time, their marks in history would vanish.
Only eternal life, complete control of life and death, and only by breaking out of the grasp of death entirely would you be any different. Han Li suddenly said particularly to no one, "I don't want to be like the Sacred Demon… he is too weak."
Yue Li and his disciple looked at him with wide eyes from both of his sides. "The Sacred Demon is weak…" Wei Yuanfen frowned, feeling that her chosen master really was a bit too arrogant. Yet, in the end, she also looked at the statue in the distance with her chin raised and chest straight.
Yue Li, on the other hand, couldn't help but feel his conviction. His goals were not one bit unserious; he was rock-willed at achieving them. Suddenly, from atop the skies, from atop the distant head of the statue, a slow ringing sound started to echo. It was rhythmic, like the sound of an ancient bell.
Han Li said, "Mom, from now on, everyone connected in one bubble without any evil intentions against each other will be forced to enter together as a team to where the Trials will be held, that is, inside the Statue, which is in fact, a tower of sort in the shape of a statue."
Yue Li got close to him and held his hand while his disciple looked at him without knowing what to do. Han Li smiled at her, "My mother and I live in Southern Lust City; when you reach back to the continent, come there. Take the trials on your own and try to win as many good things as possible."
She scratched the side of her head. "Can't I just come with you guys? Seems complicated. And I haven't even heard of Southern Lust City before… It should be very far."
Her teacher smiled. "If you have no issue with having intercourse with me, you may follow us, but I don't think that would be a great choice for you."
Wei Yuanfen smiled awkwardly. "Yeah, I don't want to give my virginity to someone I don't love…" n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Han Li shrugged. "Or you could lose the opportunity inside the trials and enter my Mother's Empty Space along with Ruo, but it would certainly be a waste of a great life-changing opportunity."
"…Would I have to fight in the trials?"
"Probably, but not sure; it's personalized, as I told you earlier."
Yue Li asked, a slightly teasing smile on her face, "Girl, why don't you just enter with us? Xiao Li is really gentle, you know? It even feels great. He has many tricks even I can't completely handle yet~"
Wei Yunfen was stunned. Can such a beautiful woman's mouth speak such crass words?
Her face reddened, and she mumbled with a bit of aversion: "Shameless! City people are so shameless! How can you be… He is your son!"
Yue Li laughed, hugging her son's waist as he looked at her curiously and wrapped his hand around her waist. Han Li patted her cheeks while she looked at him intriguingly and purred, "It's exciting to do something that is not dangerous for once. What do I get for being a good mom?"
"What good mom? You ruined half my benefits on this trip; such a pity."
Yue Li looked at him, bemused. She muttered in his ear, "Only because I was with you could you trade for the things you wanted, so I deserve some appreciation. You can't really call me a bad mom after that, can you?"
Her son only planted a kiss on top of her head. His expression dismissive. Instead, he looked at Wei Yuanfen. "What did you decide?"
Wei Yuanfen made a sour face from the side but then decided to sigh. "I really don't know what I want… I am just… uh, master, you should guide me. If you were me, what would you have done?"
Looking at the confused girl, Han Li pondered for a second and spoke about something else. "On the way here, I paused when I saw many faces among the thousands in the crowd. Do you know why?"
"… I do not."
Because, of many of them, some had Sparks or Dao Souls that made him have second thoughts about many things. In the Awakening Stage, people had a Spark; in the Evolution Stage, that Spark became a Minor Dao Soul, and in the Power Birth Stage, it becomes an Intermediate Dao Soul. And the path was predetermined at their birth, what Dao they followed: someone born with a Shit Spark was destined to walk the Dao of Shit. And yes, Han Li had indeed known many such quirky sparks existed in the world long ago, but on his way, he saw many such sparks that made him think deeply. He had, in fact, even seen a woman on the way here who actually had a Lust Spark. If she was not an actual slut, he might have even been interested in her.
Even his own Lust Spark, which had grown to become a Minor Dao Soul of Lust, was nothing but one of the infinite Daos that others could be born with. The fact that the Sacred Demon had given it to him didn't mean it was solitarily his own, but this fact gave Han Li enlightenment that he had been missing.
[Talents]
[Low-Level Lack of Lust]
[Low-Level Sensational Barrier]
[Low-Level Seduction]
These were all his talents now, and even if people chanted its words, they couldn't use them, even if they had a Lust Spark. So, what if he entirely absorbed all the Magic Powers in the Lust Dao and made the entire Lust Dao his own?
Then wouldn't those Sparks and Dao Souls be following 'his' Lust Dao? So if they use Magic Powers, would they pay Dao Crystals to him instead of paying the heavenly consciousness to whom the Lust Dao previously belonged?
Can he even let them use it?
Just like the Heavens? The consciousness who replies to chants?
Wouldn't he literally be another Heaven, then?
After all, it was hearing the chants and taking its fee to lend its powers to normal humans. So, will he become the lender?
"On the way here, my disciple," Han Li said, "I paused, looking at them because I became curious. What if everyone here reached their full potential, their maximum potential, and then died? Was their lived then worthy of having been lived?"
"…Was it?" his disciple asked, her face frowning.
Han Li shook his head. "No, it wasn't worth it as their efforts would end up being vain anyway, but was it not worth it to them? That's up to them. Then I realized it is not that everything impermanent lacks meaning; it is just that it lacks meaning compared to the vastness of reality in itself. "Even that giant, to it, we are ants, but who says there are no bigger giants that look at it like an ant?"
"Eh… That means?" Yue Li asked, seriously thinking. To no end. "So, returning to the question, what would I have done in your shoes, little disciple," Han Li laughed. "I would enter the tower if I had a beautiful master of opposing sex who invited me. The world is so vast; who cares about your virginity? You might as well give it to me."
Wei Yuanfen was speechless. Even Yue Li was speechless as she looked at her son.
A long while passed as the rings from high up reverberated louder and louder.
Biting her lips, Wei Yuanfen shook her head. "I don't want to lose it to someone I don't love, sorry, master. I just don't want to. Even though I do have interest in you, I do not feel love."
Han Li smiled. "So be it. The best you could do in the Trials is pass the first one in your condition, and if I were you, I wouldn't lose a teacher with experience over a random treasure that could be good or bad. If I were you, I'd enter my mother's Empty Space."
She hesitated a bit. "Are you confident of your teachings?" she asked.
Han Li frowned. "That's up to you to decide, but the one disciple I am proud of, who is also my wife, could totally wipe the floor with you if that's enough, and she is in the same stage as you, yet less talented."
Wei Yuanfen bit her thumbs. She really felt interested in the trials…
Han Li then looked up, his mother's waist tightly held under his grasp as her filled boobs pressed against his chest. He suddenly carried her a bit into the air, and out of instinct, his mom wrapped her perky legs around his waist while wrapping her hand around his neck. She looked at him with stars in her eyes.
With a deep sigh, Wei Yuanfen asked, "Would I be forced to do anything I don't want once I am out of this bubble's protection and we arrive in the real world?"
Yue Li laughed. "You are underestimating my son's charms. And also, no, he won't force you."
"Can't he say that himself… for guarantee?" she asked.
"You look like a man. I barely feel interested in you..." Han Li said in irritation, "And you know what? My mom saying something is the same as me saying it."
His half-hearted disciple finally walked up to them, and Yue Li pointed at her. Usually, she didn't have the ability to bring anything into her Empty Space; only Evolved could do that, but as her red spark came out and her hair became red, a soul sense wrapped around the girl, and a second later, she vanished.
Yue Li looked at Han Li. He smiled at her. Some time passed, and the Trials would begin any second now.
"How is your Empty Space like right now?" he asked.
"The whole 5-meter area of the space inside is filled with a red mist, and in the middle, two people are lying beside my Spark, both unconscious after entering it."
Empty Space it was a very intriguing thing. It was a space filled with nothing like the universe was said to be before anything came into existence. Honestly speaking, even Han Li wasn't entirely aware of what it was; all he knew was that it was a space inside all humans from the day of their birth. Yet, even if someone dissects a human body, they won't find anything inside, as if the Empty Space itself were in a different dimension altogether from the physical body. It was an enigma. He had to learn from Ruo and his disciple what it was like to be inside such a foreign place. He had never used the Kangaroo Space fruit in his past life.
He had to learn more of it. But not now.
For one last time, the ringing sound rang out again, and from his high vantage point, Han Li looked down at the roaming masses all across the city. Everyone was looking up at the sky, he looked up too. The Trials, it begins.
Sorry for the extremely long chapter for those who hate such. And hey, drop some gifts, power stones, or golden tickets. It is a real motivation to see them!
