Chapter 159 Han Li's hate?
159 Han Li's hate?
Suddenly, Han Li paused once more and entered an alleyway where there was no one, and when they came out of it, there was a person missing from their group. It was Little Ruo. Yue Li had eaten the Life Type Fruit—Kangaroo Space Fruit and put Little Ruo inside, and when they came out, she could easily notice her son's gaze had changed. It was now colder. She even felt as if she saw an uncontrollable sense of hate briefly flicker beneath his gaze before he calmly walked forward. She looked at what he was looking at with that hateful gaze, and, just as she wanted to look clearly, she felt her hand being pulled by him and vanished into the crowd.
Yet, she still saw what he had seen, unclear as it was: A destitute man in tattered beggar robes, with a rough grey beard and dirty long hair tousled and falling to his sides. That man was lying against a wall, a bottle of alcohol in his hand, and he appeared extremely dirty.
Just looking at him would induce a sort of disgust, and he was lying on the ground without doing anything, just like a beggar. Among all the extraordinary men and women, he was a stark contrast. Only a rare few had such quirky appearance with so much strength in them.
Soon, their forms mixed into the crowd of people, and Han Li breathed out.
"Who was that, Xiao Li?" Yue Li asked.
Han Li looked at her for a second before he sighed. "An enemy. Little Ruo's family's dog. Someone who was a major reason why the girl had to go through such suffering…" His mind was filled with an image now. The image of a lifeless Ruo hanging on a tree. He could never erase that thought, and below her was a letter addressed to him—"Betrayed by the person I love, there is no longer a reason to live." His heart would have struggled to calm down had he not had a heart as strong as his.
After his mother died in his past life, he was a man who had lost everything. He had no ambition, and he was far from being capable of acting cheerfully like Wei Yuanfen. He was depressed, heavily, heavily depressed.
But even at that point, he had Ruo, who was an extremely precious part of his life. She was his first wife. She was his everything at that point. His beacon of hope.
Yet, the whole Fang Family schemed against Little Ruo and him. They wanted her dead. She was a stain that if it came out, everything of their reputation made with decades of work would go down the drain. If Han Li was not the slave of the Wisdom Seeking Villa with impressive war achievements, he could have been killed by them outright, but in his quest to climb the ranks in the sect to get a lifespan-improving resource for his mom, he had gained some significant backing.
But along with that, he had gained a great number of enemies. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
That beggar-like man was one of these enemies. He was not yet a person of the Fang Family, just a distant relative who had yet to have an impact on Ruo's life, but he would get a mission in the future: Kill the white-haired girl beside Han Li of the Wisdom Seeking Villa in a way that leaves behind no clues of your existence.
And he would do exactly that, stealing Han Li's Ruo from him in the most ruthless fashion.
He used an illusion of magic power on Ruo and brought her out of the sect using a person who had Han Li's appearance and then coldly told her to die before he came back. He coldly showed Ruo the one thing that she feared the most.
The opposite part of the Gu in her heart.
If the Fang Family crushed it, she could be easily killed. Yet, they didn't want to kill her like that since it would leave tracks for Han Li. So, the person in Han Li's form just threw the worm at Ruo and calmly told her to disappear and no longer be a burden to him. That person used his means to thoroughly break the bond Han Li and Ruo had and Ruo, devastated, took the only path she knew forward—death.
Betrayed by her only reason for living, she had no reason to live. She was also heavily depressed after Yue Li's death, so she could only look on as a rope on her neck tightened. Even her normal thinking had been affected by magic powers.
The Fang Family really didn't want to make Han Li their enemies, but they didn't know he had the Life Sword; with a bit of Ruo's blood, he came to know everything that he wanted. That beggar was the person who killed Ruo.
The main reason he had chosen to put Ruo into the Empty Space now was because of familiar faces; from now on, they might see people from Ruo's homeland, and if someone recognized her, that would be troublesome. But even if someone had seen her earlier, it was fine; no one would think Han Li had a Kangaroo Space Fruit in his hand, nor that he was planning to rescue her. Everyone would just ignore her as she was already safe in this place.
But people from her clan, like that beggar, who might or might not recognize Ruo, might ask him to hand her over. He had no fear of that person, but it was better not to let that guy see Ruo since that would immediately put him on the Fang Family's kill list.
Even though they were far from each other, that clan had a Power Born as their head, and Han Li, as he was now, didn't have any backing like the Han Li of the future. He would be killed within days, and they wouldn't hesitate to use the other part of Ruo's Heart Gu to kill her.
So, the fact that he had saved her for now was just ephemeral. To completely save her, he would have to fix her physical heart into a normal one, one that had no binding to the far-away Fang Clan. He knew exactly how to do that and Monk Hen Shin's appearance made it much easier.
