Chapter 479: Chapter 479 - Majestic Wings
Chapter 479: - Majestic Wings
Morel, the Knight Commander, observed from a distance as Broken finally arrived and began to reveal his capabilities.
He sighed, thinking to himself, "What an incredible blessing he's been given."
"When Cecilia first told us he was the new Champion of Sloth, I didn't believe it. But I must admit, it's been a long time since I've seen someone wielding the Blessing of Sloth."
"Ever since the players arrived, the Sins' Blessings have become nothing more than a child's play. These blessings were handed out to so many that they turned into mere trivial skills, almost useless. But this one... this guy seems to have grown well and earned more upgrades along the way. Including those spirit beasts that accompany him."
Cecilia and Cedric each possessed a unique talent that set them apart from others. Cecilia had an exceptional ability for gathering information and remaining attuned to her surroundings. She also wielded the Ancient Dimensional Element-something incredibly rare and powerful, making her a strong contender to lead the Moonlight Fae, potentially taking Elaine's place. Cedric, on the other hand, excelled in nature magic. Though he focused more on enhancing and boosting his physical prowess, his mastery was undeniable.
It was due to Cecilia's unique abilities that someone like Broken could be detected in the first place.
Morel nodded to himself. "This curse has plagued the Moonlight Fae for hundreds of years, to the point where we've nearly given up hope of breaking free, resigning ourselves to this way of life."
"I think it would be best if Lady Elaine herself explained the nature of the curse to him," Morel said with conviction. "If he can overcome my challenge, then that will be proof enough!"
The Moonlight Fae, an ancient tribe that had lived in these lands for centuries, was led by their esteemed Tribe Leader, Elaine.
They were once a faery tribe scattered and tormented, until the Goddess of the Moon intervened, rescuing and uniting them. To shield them from the curse that pursued them, the Goddess confined them to a sacred sanctuary-a haven she herself had gifted.
This place became their refuge, and in gratitude, they named themselves the Moonlight Fae Tribe to honor her kindness.
Faeries are a race with a natural affinity for magic, but their true potential can only be realized when they form a bond with Humans. It is believed that Faeries were created in Yunatea specifically to aid and support Humans.
This fate is deeply unsettling for a species of such intelligence, yet destined to serve as little more than slaves. The Faerie population dwindles year by year, worn down by mistreatment -exploited for every conceivable human need, from servitude to warfare, and even as tools for sexual pleasure.
The Moonlight Fae had been confined to this place for centuries, bound by a prophecy that foretold of someone in the future who could set them free. The Fae Queen had spoken of the one destined to break their chains-a figure who fit the description perfectly: the Champion of Sloth and beloved by the spirits.
The last Champion of Sloth they had encountered was King Elandorr, but their hopes of liberation were quickly crushed when he showed no interest in the suffering of the Moonlight Fae.
Those hopes were shattered entirely when word of King Elandorr's death spread throughout the Dissidia Kingdom.
"And now, here I am faced with yet another supposed 'savior'?" Morel muttered.
"They're not even native to Yunatea! Who are they? What are they? How can an outsider-a creature from another world-bear a Blessing of the Sins with such power?" he said, his frustration growing with each word.

Broken rode atop Polly, who now soared through the sky, her wings flapping with grace. Polly's illusion skill seemed to ripple outward, repelling any monsters that dared come close.
Seated securely on Polly's back, Broken wielded his spear with impressive agility. Polly darted swiftly between the attacks of the hundreds of monsters surrounding them, and Broken struck down any that ventured too near.
"Polly, let's save the others," he commanded. With that, Polly immediately turned, speeding towards Ivana and the rest of their group.
[Water Domain (Active Skill)]
A soft blue glow enveloped Polly and Broken, forming a shimmering bubble of light that radiated a calming energy outward.
[Ocean's Wrath (Active Skill)]
An enormous wave of water surged up from the ground, crashing down and sweeping away the monsters with overwhelming force. The immense wave battered the creatures, inflicting heavy damage and scattering them as the water receded, leaving a path of destruction behind. [Sea of Storms (Active Skill)]
A dense shower of water-formed spears descended from the sky, each gleaming and sharpened to a lethal point. They fell without mercy, piercing through the monsters' thick scales with ease.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
As Broken drew nearer to Ivana and the others, it became apparent that the barrier surrounding them had suddenly fallen, leaving them unprotected.
Broken could see the exhaustion etched on Ivana's face; she looked pale, her stamina clearly drained. Despite her fatigue, she still managed to offer him a faint smile.
He leaped off Polly and caught Ivana just as she was about to collapse. "Ivana!" he called out, gently shaking her.
"Broken..." she whispered, her voice trembling, tears streaming down her face. "I failed to protect Livelywood."
"No! You've done your best," he said firmly, pulling her into a comforting embrace. "You've protected everyone."
Ivana nodded weakly, and after a moment, Broken released her. The battle wasn't over yet. Starfall then spoke up, "Broken, I don't have much Mana or Stamina left. I can only hold out for a few more minutes."
"You'll be healed-just hang in there and survive while I take care of the rest," he replied.
The Elder Dragon Tree then lent its power, healing everyone. Though they could no longer fight effectively, at least they could still stand, holding on and contributing to the struggle in whatever way they could. The battle, however, seemed far from over, the chaos stretching on
indefinitely.
The battlefield was a scene of pure destruction-dust and smoke choked the air, illuminated intermittently by flashes of lightning.
Broken summoned Blackthorn, the golem who swiftly charged across the battlefield, slamming into the monsters with his massive body and swinging his enormous greatsword
with crushing force.
The relentless effort continued, and finally, the tide began to turn. The number of monsters visibly dwindled. Broken's arrival had a tremendous impact, allowing them to take down large numbers of enemies, and Pawpaw had also played an enormous role, handling his share of the fight with impressive might.
And still, they pressed on, fighting fiercely until, at last-after a grueling battle that pushed them to their mental and physical limits-every single monster had been vanquished! The morning sun gradually lit up the ravaged battleground. The once-flat terrain was now littered with toppled trees and scarred by countless marks of battle. Scattered remains of monster loot lay among the debris.
Anna spoke up cheerfully, "Ah, finally, we managed to finish this fight! Huahaha!"
Despite the numerous wounds covering her body, she showed no signs of fatigue. However, just as she let out her triumphant exclamation, her legs gave out and she collapsed onto the
ground.
"Oh... finally..." she muttered, catching her breath. "I never thought I'd survive a battle of this scale. But I'm proud of myself, and honestly, I'd gladly do it all over again," she said.
Karl and Yann joined her, taking seats on the ground beside her. Yann had a contented smile
on his face, nodding slowly.
"This is all thanks to our Lord, Baron Broken," Yann declared proudly.
